Not sure about monthly sales but I'm pretty sure I remember the Wii selling like 1M during Black Friday week a few years ago..

DS did but that console is the second best selling console of all time. The Wii never managed to break 800k once

But don't worry, according to a lot of people in the other sales thread, it's only going to sell another 25 million lifetime after the holidays and end up at 75 million, same as the 3DS.

The sales are best week of U.S. sales in Nintendo Switch history. Not Nintendo history - so Wii still outperformed it.

Impressive sales of Switch in that week and the software figures for Mario Kart and Smash are insane. Pokemon is doing well.

Oh ok, I had to reread that too. Do we even have a ranking of the best BF sales ever for consoles?

I wonder if Smash and Kart streams will cross at some point

Nice to see such high quality titles rewarded with gigantic sales.

Also, Pokemon is already at 3 million, lol

Word of mouth seems to be exceptionally strong for this one.

That is quite good. Though I'm curious to learn just how many Switches were sold in the Americas in the weeks leading up to the big one. Most consumers here know to wait it out a bit in November in order to snag great deals if possible.

Ah, you beat me to it. Yeah, so as we can surmise, the Switch had a better Black Friday week than the Wii has ever had. I don't think it will beat that insane 2M November that Wii had in 2008, but it should be well above the Wii's second best November (in fact, it was above that already last year at 1365k roughly).

Not beating the DS is nothing to be ashamed of, and beating the Wii's best BF week is hugely impressive. Puts into perspective how incredibly strong this performance is.

According to at least one insider, pre-BF November Switch sales were up significantly YoY.

Black Friday ads were out early November. If people were on the lookout for deals, they would see that there were none for Switch. I expect big numbers for the rest of the month as well, especially with Pokemon and the specific Lite model earlier in the month.

Wii sold 3.81 million units in the US in December, 2009. No one's ever topping it.
I'm confused

Edit: nevermind, December. So it did best Wii in nov :o

I knew that Smash is heavily skewed towards America, but damn 8M just from there.

I wonder what the mario kart team is working on. We're definitely not getting a new mario kart this gen.

Should be noted that the software milestones are listed as from the Americas, not US specifically

For a random comparison that's 200k more than the Wii U sold, period, in the U.K.

Hell of a turnaround.

In what way? You have to remember that the Wii got so high in large part thanks to NSMB Wii. Which was a sell monster.
I know i was around that time - just saying that we should and wait and see how Switch performs once Nintendo drops the price and is a bit more aggressive with the pricing - which will only start next year.

Switch could get closer to it by next year.
But yeah thats a crazy record lol.
Not a chance, even with Smash launch Switch didn't even get to 2 million, now with Pokémon and Lite's first holiday it most likely will but not as far as 3 million much less almost 4 and i can't imagine something next year that'll be bigger than Pokémon or even Smash.

Do we know what the projected hardware sales are supposed to be for the fiscal year (or the 3rd quarter)?
