Don't @ me, but I still have a vegemite, cream cheese and jam sandwich on occasion. So good.

A fried bologna sandwich is ridiculous whether by itself or just with a tomato. Throw a slice of butter in a pan, fry the bologna up for 30-45 seconds and it's crazy how good it comes out.

American sandwiches are awesome and terrifying (literal meanings). To me, a sandwich is a light snack. If I've got a big evening meal planned, I'll have a sandwich for lunch. Or they're single-filling things for children. Some of the stuff in this thread is 10,000 calories with two pieces of bread struggling to contain them. Meat cheese and sauce mountain. How the hell you eat one with your hands without getting half of it in your clothes/hair is beyond me :D

In hindsight, we lack breakfast sandwiches in this thread.

Bacon Egg and cheese bagel is a solid 10/10 sandwich, just make sure you toast that bagel and fry that egg up over easy then break the yolk shortly before putting it on the sandwich.

You can vary it greatly with the cheese selection, II recommend a nice sharp cheddar or a pepperjack.

America has perfected a technique called the Philly Lean. Where one leans in forwards over the sandwich to avoid dripping on themself. Thus is made even more potent if you are eating at a bar where you can stand, spreading you feet to brace for the flavor, placing you elbows on either side of the sandwich and leaning in over it to eat.

Chicken Parm
Chicken Cutlet
Turkey and Cheese (especially if you get it done by the Dominicans at the corner store)

Beef Dip or Italian Beef.

For something that I might make more regularly at home/for lunch, Tuna on Toast is solid.

I'm in KC so I️ kinda gotta say the zman sandwich. It's like brisket, provolone, onion rings and bbq sauce on a Kaiser roll

I'm going with Joe's KC's pulled pork sandwich. And, I only mean Joe's version. Most places that have BBQ pulled pork sandwiches have some sauce-drenched pile of pulled pork where you can only taste the sauce. Joe's uses a minimal amount of sauce and you can actually taste the meat, plus they make pulled pork better than anyone, anyway.

Places
Honestly original stuff in a bbq restaurant in the Austin area. It's called Brothertons Black Iron BBQ. A highly skilled pitmaster and a master chef makes for great sandwiches. When they do their take on an existing sandwich, often it is better. I think Cuban in little Havana is better, but the fact they're close out in suburban Texas is crazy.

That actually looks pretty bad, white bread with a piece of katsu in it...that's it? I've lost some respect for Japanese cuisine.

Nothing can beat a proper Italian Sub with fresh french bread/Italian bread, fresh cold cuts, tomatoes, and Italian dressing.
