How has this thread ended up with this half assed title when somebody came up with the untouchable genius of Nintendo's Witch lol.

On topic, will be buying this soon. Haven't played either game despite having a Wii U. So excited (but have to finish off the Witcher 3 DLC first).

I wish they released this as a Bayonetta collection, with a Bayonetta collection cover/spineart rather than Bayo 2. .

Does anyone know if the PAL version has a reversible cover?
Yes it does. It's for the first game with a huge notification that it's a download code. But weird since the code is included, but still cool that the cover is there.

Nice.

Pretty hyped for this. Bayonetta is my favorite game ever and Bayonetta 2 is okay too.

In the wake of NieR: Automata, anyone think they'll actually change the plot for Jeanne playthroughs in Bayonetta 3?
Jeanne is my favorite character, and it would be cool to see the story from her perspective instead of just being a Bayonetta skin.

Question is...

Do I trade Skyrim in for this?

Never played a Bayonetta or a lot of these action games really. Is this a good starting place for a newbie. I tried the Ninja Gaiden games and got obliterated and some other ninja action game and lost on the second level so many times I stopped playing.

I'm so thorn if I should be getting this. I have played a couple hours of the first Bayonetta, and while it was enjoyable, I couldn't see what the fuss was all about.
Bayo1 starts slow, but picks up quickly.

Don't play it on easy and pay attention to the lore. It feeds you the story in a Dark Souls-esque way.

They're not easy (unless you play on easy... which I would argue robs the experience a lot) - but if you want to play a character action game, there is no better than Bayonetta. She's the GOAT. 2nd would be Devil May Cry.

Still debating whether to buy physical or digital.

I kind of just want Bayo 2 on my system without having to switch cards, but at Best Buy I can simply get the combo of both games for less than the price of just the digital version of 2. Plus I'd have the physical media for posterity.

hmmm

Really on the fence on this one!

Loved DMC1 and 3, 2 sucked never played the rest and Bayonetta looks similar

Never played Bayonetta but it looks like damn fun!

Had actually started a replay of Bayonetta on the XB BC when the news dropped about the Switch port and was the tipping point for me getting a Switch. Now the time has come to replay Bayonetta and play Bayonetta 2 for the first time. It'll be hard to play B1 before B2, but its been years since B1 so will hopefully feel somewhat new.

Great OT!

That title is saved for Bayonetta 3, that game might be the best action game ever made 10/10 and will deserve that epic title.

Love that title! Can't wait to pick this up tomorrow, but I'm looking for an answer in the meantime. Do the Amiibo unlock the appropriate costumes in both Bayo 1 and 2? Additionally, do the costumes stay on at all times? I know Bayo's default outfit says goodbye whenever she uses certain special attacks.

amiibo support is for Bayonetta 2 only (They are unlocked from the start in Bayonetta 1 and Fox + Chain Chomp are not present)

The costumes do stay on all of the time.

Awesome! Thank you so much! I can't wait to use the Samus costume in Bayo 1, but I guess I'll have to wait to use it in 2. Not going to open my box for that.

Never thought living in Japan I'd have to wait a day longer than the West for this game... Oh well, two more days and that Climax Edition is all mine baby!

I know it's only another $10 but I really feel like it's not worth getting B1 again when B2 is so much better (IMO).

Maybe one day.

Just got Bayonetta 2 preloaded. Midnight needs to come around!

Yeah I feel kind of the same, but think I get it later on to complete the trilogy on the Switch. Wonder how long the discount will last.

Is Bayonetta harder or easier than the Ninja Gaiden games? Can you move between difficulty levels?

Gonna skip it on Switch. I have finished Bayonetta 3 times (PC, Wii U, X360) and Bayonetta 2 on Wii U.

But happy for the folks who's never played the games. They are great!

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.

Is Bayonetta harder or easier than the Ninja Gaiden games?
I'd say that Bayo is a bit easier, or at least much more "fair".

Ninja Gaiden, as much as I love it too, has no fucks to give about enemies being able to start attacks or lob projectiles off at you from off-screen. They specifically programmed the various Angels in Bayo1 such that they have to at least BE on the screen area at some point before they'll start attacking you.

Witch-tier OT title.

I've played Revengeance and loved the combat -- the constant wait->parry->counter gameplay loop was lovely -- but I found Nier Automata's combat to be incredibly boring and trivial; I saw no clear avenues to improvement at all, and the near-infinite health-items you're allowed to carry, remove all the tension.

Can anyone advise me about Bayonetta's combat? With the above experiences, do you think I'd like it?
