He obviously waits for dramatic effect and to give it a reason for why the Warhammer is able to hold him at the end there but Eren is now a person that doesn't have any hesitations, so he shouldn't have waited. My dude belly flopped into a crowd of people, and when Mikasa is crying about killing children, he just coldly stares at her and doesn't give a shit. It didn't ruin the chapter but it is, like, "come on".
