Eh, it's alright. Not on my list of favourite dishes, but sometimes, it's pretty damn nice. Prefer a Leberkässemmerl tho
I'm from Berlin (West back in the day), of course do I like Currywurst.
But don't call it Currywurst when it has a skin/darm, don't let them fool you!
What is it? Looks like someone doused some cut up sausages with ketchup and sprinkled curry powder on top.
well, it highly depends on the region afaik. :)Isn't the original actually with skin?
i wouldn't want it without anyway...it loses all its bite.
Edit: Apparently Berliner Currywurst is without the skin.
well, it highly depends on the region afaik. :)
When I was young there was not even an option to get the Currywurst without skin, my Currywurst dealer always said to me: that's a Bratwurst then lol
If you ever visit Berlin, get some (two with fries is a nice snack) at a well known Currywurstbude, one of my all time favoritefast foods. Beside Döner and burgers.
Damn, I could really go for a Krabbenbrötchen right now.I like it but I much prefer a Fischbrötchen if I'm going to have a light meal, either herring or Salmon/Lachsersatz.
Lower Saxony? Just go to a Volkswagen Cantina :)Yeah but I live in Lower Saxony where the default currywurst is nasty and on top of that all the places I've seen in this city are really bad at it.
I was in Berlin last year haha, but I only had Bratwurst :P
I read somewhere that Currywurst without the skin is something that is especially typical for West-Berlin. If I visit Berlin again, I promise to try it :D
of course, I'm German!
Not unlike frikandel, arguably the worst example of Western European cuisine and a relic of less civilised times.
A sad, dry, circumcised excuse of a sausage.
