I'm saying 91. There will be a handful of negative reviews just due to it being such a weird genre, but the vast majority will be glowing.

Based on the other scores and the switch bumps to ratings, I'll go flat 90. Reviewers won't have been able to get the full expwrience, but enough to show it's the best in the series.

I can see the global situation pushing scores up, as reviewers come to value escapism more. 91.

Wild World did 86 MC and 88 for New Leaf. I'll guess 90 just for the continuity.
Don't forget that IGN is going to give it a 8

I voted 90-94, my prediction is probably about 90.

From everything I've seen the game seems to do enough little quality of life improvements to appeal to the people who are already AC fans (inventory, graphics, decorating your house, etc.), but I think it'll also do enough bigger things to appeal to reviewers who haven't gotten into the series as much yet (island terraforming, more customization outside, more specific goals for you to do with those Nook Miles challenges, etc).

I'm personally not the biggest fan of the series yet myself. The DS one was my firet and I liked it fine for a while, but eventually got bored. New Leaf was a big improvement to me because it added more things that I could do as the Mayor (building bridges and other public work stuff), but I felt it could have even more.
So this one seems like it could be the perfect next step to hook me for a long time.

I'm surprised my AC Switch from Target was delivered early this morning.
The packaging is real neat and the controllers, HOT!

It should get around 90 unless a bunch of websites decide to nominate the reviewer that couldn't care less for Animal Crossing, then yes, maybe in the high 80s.

My hope is that the consensus is "better than New Leaf." If it can attain that, it will be a staple on my switch hard drive.

This is a hard game to predict. I feel like it'll fall somewhere between 88-92, which is not an option. So I went 90-94. It could easily be a 90 just as easily as it could be an 89 lmao.

Historically AC games do below 90 but I think the form factor of the switch is a big positive and almost adds a handicap of sorts to games, particularly 1st party games.

I don't get why so many people think this will score lower than New Leaf and Wild World. I mean I know it's not impossible, but nothing we've seen has indicated that should be the case.

90-94 in my opinion. As a whole it looks great and incredibly polished from what we've seen so far. I'd also wager the delay further improved the game.

I also voted 90-94, and for pretty much the same reasons.

Under 75 is my vote.

Or else I may lose my job.

"Have you watched last month's Animal Crossing: New Horizon Nintendo Direct?"

Yes, I have -> 90-94
No, I haven't -> 80-89

I'm thinking 90 or 91. I suspect New Leaf's score was hurt by some of the annoying little qol things that New Horizons has done a lot to fix, while the changes to the core gameplay loop should make the early game more engaging and dynamic.

85-89

It will be a great AC game but a lot of reviewers won't know what to do with that and give it a generic 8-8.5/10
