I'm not usually like a size=wrestling type of guy. Or think like everyone has to be massive, but something about seeing Jack Perry holding those belts over Bryan all I can think is "dude, maybe try to bulk up?" He seems so......slim lol

Also...where the Moxley stuff going? We now have a third company faction for control?

You what? The Danielson segment was great, and now every defence he has is Title vs Career which will elevate both the title and whoever eventually does beat him for it. He's got Perry now at All Out, if he wins that then Darby's waiting at Grand Slam like 2 weeks later, plus Christian Cage is in patience mode after winning the Casino Gauntlet Match at All In. And you think that kills momentum? You crazy.

I am convinced Bryan's keeping it and gradually going to become some sort of tyrant who refuses to quit or leave until Kenny comes back to save AEW and Bryan from himself.

The Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer again of Bryan Danielson holding the belt for a record reign all the while insisting his neck surgery is scheduled for right around the corner would be a very Bryan Danielson way to play out his retirement arc.

Bryan's whole "I need neck surgery by the end of the year" comments are just so weird.

Almost wonder if they use that as a story reason why he switches to part time but also Tony Khan makes it so that he isn't stripped of the title.

Curious for the ratio of people on Team "Another Company Takeover Story" vs. "Moxley's new gang of take no prisoners fighters" in this thread. From quickly skimming some pages here it seems most people's heads went to the former (with Shane as the financial backer?), have opinions changed since last night?

tbh the latter feels like just a worse/heel version of the BCC and thats my fear. the inclusion of Shaffir is already kind of feeding into that. Maybe if they had used this to bring back Hayter, on the other hand, I'd be more intrigued. But either way its still too soon to know much.

Imagine Brie and Birdie and Buddy pleading with him to stay down as he just won't, as they're telling him to quit, and he refuses to. His neck surgeon's there going, BRYAN YOU HAVE NO NECK, and he just willpower-percocets his way through matches until, finally, his old friend Kenny is forced to return, to take him out behind the barn and put him out to pasture in a No Time Limit I Quit match.

I think it's a bit of column A and a bit of column B. When Danielson first pitched the idea of the BCC to Moxley it was this vision of both of them taking over the place by force and recruiting all the best young talent to school them in the ways of the BCC. Mox has seen the squabbling between TK and The Bucks and decided he doesn't want either for the future of AEW: he wants it to be gritty and violent and everything him and Danielson originally envisioned.

while the Bucks has been fighting to take all the gold as a way to seize power the BCC has been quietly doing the same under the radar while strengthening BCC: They've recruited PAC and Shafir (who has represented them in other promotions), won the trios, AEW championship and are also gunning for the International Championship too.

of course the interesting unknown in this is Danielson who in kayfabe isn't the same person who pitched that idea to Mox way back when. He's a guy who has fought for TK's version of AEW, a champion who has put his family over career…to Mox this could be seen as 'soft' and a means to kick him out of not only the BCC but AEW itself. Like the rest of the company Bryan forgot what the vision was, but Mox didn't…that leaves Bryan in a potential 'are you in or are you out?' situation.

All this to try to do what AEW doesn't bother with.

Let Shane fix it all.

I still do not believe what Mox is bringing is part of BCC

Hayter would be wasting her.
The point of things like this, in my opinion anyway is to give some growth to people that have kind of floundered on their own. To give them some new personality and a new chance.
I STRONGLY hope this is not some stupid carny bullshit with Lashley or Shane because it is not needed at all and will only continue to water down and push to the background what actually made AEW great.

but if size = strenght in wrestling then bret hart, shawn michaels, and countless others that are considered to be the some of the best of all time wouldn't have sniffed the top division

in a somewhat related note, this old Cornette vid reviewing Ospreay vs. Riccochet WCPW match came up in my feed, and since Will recently mentioned how he himself hates the start of this match and I had never seen it I found it interesting. Obviously Jim "by god wrestling reached it pinnacle with the lariat" Cornette was going to hate it, but I didnt expect it to be that toxic of a reaction. Granted its not two 290lb dudes hitting chops on each other for 40 minutes only to end the match with the ever exciting DDT or leg drop, but it really does represent everything he hates about wrestling since the mid 90s when he became irrelevant and hasn't been able to keep a job

was in kinda silly? yeah, but as 2 western wrestlers trying to make their names in WCPW it worked for their characters

I'm really not about that. It was more just the look of that specific belt holding scene. When the belts themselves almost look bigger than him with the camera angled from lower. It just suddenly made him look so small. Had literally never thought that before that shot.

I thought this too. And I don't even care about huge physiques in wrestling. He just looked tiny. He looks better than me tho, lol.

Why do I get the feeling that Moxley's thing is aiming toward bringing Bobby Lashley in? I'm not opposed to this of course, especially since Lashley is a shooter. Also it was very weird they acted like the music was uncharacteristic and weird for Mox given that the last time we saw him, he came out to the Death Rider theme.

MVP is also a jiu jitsu black belt if they want a Regal equivalent who can still wrestle if he wants to

Just FYI, there's a fun little pro wrestling destination set up on November 23-24 in New Jersey.

Saturday afternoon- GCW Dream on at the American Dream mall in East Rutherford.
Saturday night- AEW Full Gear in Newark.
Sunday afternoon- Josh Barnett's Bloodsport in Jersey City.

And AEW might put a live 3 hour Rampage/Collision in Newark just like they're doing next Friday in Chicago.

If you're not first you're last. But in this case they were first. 700k wall in action despite an alleged lack of competition.

Announce the Max deal. The Watchers hits Max tomorrow. Rated 32% on RT, the same score I gave to…well nothing on Dynamite deserved to be that low. Maybe Moxley's promo time, but that is heavily dependent on what happens next.

Bloodsport Buddies. Barnett & Thatcher on speed dial. TK should sign Mike Bailey next year and add him to the faction.

Now I want Bloodsport Buddies to be Mox's new faction name just to watch everyone lose their minds.

Incredible stuff from WON on the subject of Swerve's new deal, what Garcia was offered and, well, how a certain other company feels about it

Another major story of the week was the announcement that Swerve Strickland had signed a new deal. Based on what we've been told, this deal locks him up through September 2029. It was well known that WWE tried to make a play for the Strickland & Prince Nana act. The deal was reportedly agreed to a few weeks back but they saved the announcement for here.

People were talking about how Strickland has become a rich man with the new deal, and it's believed to be among the biggest deals in pro wrestling although would be well below the Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton level. It's probably in the range of the Kazuchika Okada and Mercedes Mone range based on what were hinted about regarding those deals (which are lower numbers than have been reported elsewhere–this deal is not at the numbers of what was reported for either of those two deals).

The deal, and the offer to Daniel Garcia, were told to us by someone on the WWE side for Garcia and more than one on Strickland, as being bad for the sport because they are so far over what would WWE would perceive the market value for both to be, with the idea he's spending more than he needs to and raising salaries. The reality is WWE can afford anything. Even if the new TV deal is high, AEW still has to spend with some caution or the idea they'll be so profitable than will erase the first six years of losses won't be the case if they get out of control on spending.

Not sure how I feel about Moxs new character yet but he needed a change. He was getting dull imo like the rest of the BCC.

"bad for the sport" lmao. WWE is a fucking joke. The main reason they hate AEW is because it's becoming harder and harder for them to underpay the athletes and retain their image rights.
This. Funny as fuck seeing them of all companies crying about that.

First place still means more than the actual numbers at this point. I think they really need to be able to simulcast Dynamite on Max.

Yeah sure but like. Where did those people go? The quality of AEW hasn't dropped in such a way that suddenly 150k people just lost interest over the course of like 6 months. It doesn't make sense.

Really weird episode of Dynamite this week. If the Mox thing is leading to Shane coming in, I might have to tune out for the duration. Getting involved with that family is a no-go for me. You're not really an alternative if you just become them. I hope they steer clear of that.

Jack Perry as the first guy up against Danielson... okay, I get it. Danielson wants to elevate the younger guys, and I'm sure he'll do just that. It's seems very out of the blue in this case though.

Above all - that crowd was absolutely DEAD. Like, they just weren't reacting to anything at all. Really put a dampener on things.

Are we ever getting to see the Lucha Bros again before they leave, or is TK just benching them for the remainder of their contracts like Starks?

WWE/TKO have infinite money, they can absolutely afford to pay their talent more. What a load of baloney.

They also have massive debt that is known to the public. Whether AEW has less or even more than what TKO has when it comes to debt, we don't know since they are a private company. So yeah TKO are going to low ball incoming talent into the company with the promise of incentives and prioritize the top talent they have as they don't want those to defect to AEW since Tony Khan can dole out more money.

Tony raising the bar for wrestling and wrestle pay. Always made sense for Tony to give Garcia a huge contract, he did teach him the dance.

Between Mercedes, Rico, and Swerve, looks like Black Jobs aren't cheap anymore.

I know HHH is hurting finding that out.
