Goliath s2 was a step down from s1 since it largely ditched the courtroom stuff for more witness/evidence gathering type antics, but it was still entertaining and something i binge watched all day.
Hulu has handed a pilot order to another drama project from Warren Littlefield, executive producer of the streaming network's Emmy-winning Handmaid's Tale.
Written by Josh Corbin (StartUp) and to be directed by BAFTA-nominated Jonathan Van Tulleken (Off Season), Reprisal hails from A+E Studios and The Littlefield Company. It a hyper-kinetic revenge tale following a relentless femme fatale who, after being left for dead, leads a vengeful campaign against a bombastic gang of gearheads.
Reprisal, which had been in the works for awhile, joins Hulu's recently ordered comedy pilot Kansas City. The company also has comedy pilot Search and Destroy from Portlandia co-creator Carrie Brownstein and Annapurna Television. The streamer opted not to move forward earlier this year with its last two drama pilots in contention, Locke & Key, which is closing a deal at Netflix, and Crash and Burn.
Corbin's writing credits include StartUp and Quantum Break.
Showtime is throwing its hat into the late-night comedy ring: The premium cabler announced Monday that it has ordered a weekly half-hour talk show starring comedy duo Desus Nice and The Kid Mero.
The untitled series — which marks Showtime's first-ever weekly late-night talk show — will feature Desus and Mero "speaking highly off the cuff and chatting with guests at the intersection of pop culture, sports, music, politics and more."
...
Desus and Mero's Showtime series is slated for a 2019 premiere; no word yet on which day of the week it will air.
He should play his twin separated at birth, Blane. It would be nice of him to raise his niece Judith.
I'm 15 minutes into the first episode and want to stopOof. I thought S1 was garbage, aside from Billy Bob and the smartass lawyer he was paired with. Not hopeful.
NO NOT FIXED
My first thought was Rick's final episode as maybe a hallucination or something, depending how they end his story.
Flashback sounds more reasonable, though 9-10 years later, looking the same might be a little off.
His performance in goliath did win him an award thoughHow did an actor of Billy Bob's pedigree get dragged into this
I mean yeah, he's one of the greatest.
Showrunner Clyde Phillips (Dexter) has exited the drama after joining the Billy Bob Thornton starrer for season two. He will be replaced by exec producer Lawrence Trilling, who worked on season one of the series.
Sources say Phillips — who replaced David E. Kelley as the day-to-day showrunner on the series — and his writing team had written all 10 episodes of season two with Amazon and Thornton both signing off on scripts.
The creative rift happened after Thornton, sources say, was unhappy with how the season two premiere turned out. Production on the series was shut down and Phillips opted to step down rather than re-arc the entire season. Sources note the first four episodes of season two had been completed and were in editing. The season two premiere is now being rewritten and reshot and three episodes will be scrapped, bringing the season tally to seven. Production will resume Wednesday.
That's similar to what happened with season one, which initially was also poised to be 10 episodes but finished with eight after showrunner David E. Kelley, who developed the series, was pushed out of the day-to-day role and a revamped episode three became the show's pilot.

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/dark-creators-ink-deal-netflix-1121181Netflix is rewarding the creators of German drama Dark.
Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar, who created the breakout hit, have signed an exclusive multiple-year overall deal with the streaming giant. The pact is the first European overall deal for Netflix and follows similar overall deals with Shonda Rhimes, Ryan Murphy and Jenji Kohan.
It sould be noted that production of Goliath hasn't been smooth (THR article from September 2017)
This sounds like an improvement, because all the law firm characters are super lame.Goliath S2 wasn't nearly as good as S1. The main character literally could have been anything other than a lawyer for all that he never entered a courtroom. It was also pretty much a nonstop grimride to darkville.

Perhaps he should focus on Discovery first...Star Trek: Discovery's newly appointed showrunner Alex Kurtzman has made a five-year deal with CBS Television Studios that includes "expanding the Star Trekfranchise for television."
CBS Television Studios declined to confirm any specific projects, but we hear there are three different Trek concepts currently in development.
Amazon Studios has given an eight-episode hourlong animated series Invincible, from The Walking Dead's Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker and artist Ryan Ottley, based on Kirkman's popular comic book series of the same name.
This marks the first series greenlight to come out of the overall deal Amazon Studios inked last year with Kirkman, executive producer of AMC's The Walking Dead, which was based on his graphic novel, and companion Fear the Walking Dead, which he co-created, as well as his Skybound Entertainment. Invincible also is part of Amazon's planned expansion into science fiction, fantasy and horror programming.
Co-created by Kirkman and Walker and based on the Skybound/Image comic, Invincible is an adult animated superhero show that revolves around Mark Grayson, a normal teenager except for the fact that his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet. Shortly after his seventeenth birthday, Mark begins to develop powers of his own and enters into his father's tutelage. The series is described as suspenseful, action-filled, and emotion-packed, yet builds upon poignant and heartwarming moments of love, friendship, and humanity.
Oh fuck.
i didnt know actors had that much power. It sould be noted that production of Goliath hasn't been smooth (THR article from September 2017)
Invincible is not your average superhero show.Superhero shows are getting out of hand.
Before it was all mystery shows now it's freaking Superheros.

New Fox will include the Fox network, Fox News, and Fox Sports (they aren't part of the sale to Disney/Comcast).I dont understand this, isnt fox spinning the news and sports off to something else while scripted shows stay on neo new fox?
In the new golden age of TV, success is all about finding a passionate niche audience. With "Love Is___" and a slate of scripted shows, OWN has cracked that code.
Well, Disney or Comcast will be buying them up while News, sports, and the broadcast channel infrastructure are spun off.I dont understand this, isnt fox spinning the news and sports off to something else while scripted shows stay on neo new fox?
