I'm going to be incredibly disappointed if the Capitals visit the White House now. I know the demographics of their sport is probably going to dictate that they don't blow Trump off but all teams should boycott to show solidarity.

So much circumstantial evidence on collusion that if ran this through a typical trial the verdict would undoubtedly be guilty.

Hi PoliERA, I filed to run for office yesterday:

It's the NH state legislature, so there's a lot of seats, enough such that random people like me have a chance of making it. I'm not primarying any incumbent (the previous holder of this seat died), but it's still going to be a contested primary anyways since lots of people have an interest in running this year. I really don't like fundraising so I'll be trying to run my campaign by spending absolutely no money whatsoever and just relying on word of mouth thru free media such as the internet. Anyone else here have any other experiences with running for office they'd like to share?

Trump is totally saving the Pruitt firing when he needs another distraction from the Mueller investigation bombshell.

awesome, I got hte paper work to form a Pac, so I could make political ads and publish them through it.
I also started looking at the paperwork and signatures needed to get on the ballet for a house/state level rep by 2022-2026

For those who were wondering, you can typically complete 15 boxes of work in one Scaramucci. This is a really innovative way to improve science education, I love it.

Uhmmm there's no way this passes the senate, right?

Only requires 50 votes if they get it done in the next 10 working days so it has a good chance

It's basically a purely symbolic bill though. It was originally DOA because dismantling the spending agreement on a party line vote would basically kill any future negotiations so they watered it down to cleaning up the accounting of old unspent money. The CHIP "cuts" aren't expected to do anything but hurt the GOP in the midterms

That's half the reason these chuckle fucks pass shit like this. It's a stunt that has zero consequences and pumps up their base.
Dems do the same thing. This one actually is a broths sides problem. IIRC there was a blatant case of this in Jersey recently where Dems wont touch a bill they previously passed now that they have a D governor.

Passing symbolic Bill's to get vetoed is a standard divided government opposition tactic.

So we're at the point now where we're saying Abestos is safe?

...I don't know whether to laugh at the absurdity or be annoyed at the stupidity.

Give it time. In six months we will be back to leaded gasoline in this country.

"The pencils we give our children have lead in them - how bad can it be?"

Who in the world are the 6 democrats who cast a "no vote" that could have killed this?

You know what I have to say PA steelworkers? Go suck the orange Cheetos tiny cock. You cared more about fucking over PoC and the lgbtq community than your own fucking welfare.

You chose racism/bigotry over logic.

Hope you lose it fucking all.

I know the tax on my electric car is coming. It'll still be worth paying and not driving a combustion engine car though, and if it's a chance to actually start making up for the hilariously shrinking (when considering inflation and cars becoming more efficient) gasoline tax, then I'm okay taking that bullet to get something fucking sensible into law for a market sector that's only going to keep increasing.

I am surprised that I have any soul left to die off each day with this administration. It's like a constant beatdown to all of your senses.

I think we're so past the point of "nothing really matters anymore", it's not even funny. Trump and his gang can do whatever they want, nothing is going to happen to them. Even Romney is drinking the koolaid now.

I mean, the first dude NPR quotes is genuinely stupid. He shouldn't be voting.

I'm not going to feel sorry for him if his job goes away, but he is an argument for some sort of jobs program like a Roosevelt-era program like the CCC. Just keep this dumbass employed so that he doesn't vote on something that he thinks that he understands, but that he doesn't understand at all.

It was a tax hike on millionaires. New Jersey is a special case in my mind, as it has a political culture of naked corruption.

I'm struggling to think of legislation dems floated in the Bush era that would apply to this though. For the most part, at least on a federal level, drmocrats don't do this.
