I understand Lewis disappointment, he has this wdc already in the bag, he is there for the records, so 2nd place is almost nothing only counts as another podium

Mercedes has shitty mid race strategy. They need to re work it to support more dynamics.

We'll have to wait until they tell us what went "wrong", but I'm not really sure what more you'd suggest they have done? Hamilton clearly had better pace, but Ferrari/Vettel got extremely lucky with that VSC. Hamilton pitted first last year and got stuck in traffic, while Vettel stayed out and built a decent buffer; this year Hamilton pitted second (to cover Kimi) but already had a good buffer to both Ferraris and wasn't in any danger to get held up, so by all accounts Merc made a good play. It was just unfortunate timing for Mercedes/Hamilton that the VSC started/ended when it did, and it played perfectly into the hands of their competitor.

I only see Vettel as a challenger to Hamilton for the championship this season. Bottas looks like he still isn't on top of things. Verstappen is amazing one weekend but throwing points away the next weekend. Ricciardo seems inconsistent on pace, qualifying in particular. Raikkonen is a mere pawn sacrificed for any gains that can be transferred to Vettel.

Too many faster cars stuck behind slower cars.

Does seem worse then previous years, I hope it's not just DRS passes all year.

Yeah the only thing they could have done is to make a bigger gap if that was possible.

Think about it, Vettel stays out expecting a safety car. Nothing happens so Ferrari No4 is deployed. Mag doesn't get it right, too bad, let's try with Ferrari No3, sorry Romain. At least Kimi was spared.

Bwahahaha, those fucking trumpets in the background of the Wolff interview were fitting way too well.

PS: Respect to Toto for taking responsibility and not blaming the rules or vsc
Don't really see what difference the software would have made. Hamilton should have been within a couple of tenths of the VSC minimum sector time... and if he wasn't, he wasn't doing his job properly.

If he was, then there's literally nothing more he could have done. Knowing where Vettel was / was not at that point means nothing.

Very enjoyable first race for 2018.
Though its clear Lewis has 2018 in the bag. Only interesting thing to see it Constructors, Max, Alonso and goddamn amazing HaaS pace.
