I It doesn't need to taste good. I'm tired of being hungry.

First thing get a blood test done. Next focus on foods that are satiating, and tasty.

Some suggestions:
- bullet proof coffee
- bacon cheeseburger ( no bun)
- fat bombs
- avocado chocolate pudding
- 3 egg omlet with spinach, ground sausage, cooked with butter.

Adjarian Khachapuri murders my hunger without mercy.

It's like heavy artillery of satiation.

Beef and vegetable stew does it for me. Belly full of fiber (from all the veggies) and liquid (the broth). Getting some good bread from the deli to dip in it will help. If you make it with lean beef and use low cal / fat bread like pane, it's even not fattening at all.

It took you seven years to have a chip butty?
can't you get deported for that?, next you will be saying you haven't had a crisp one either.
I had just made the cut off thankfully before all the Brexit changes! And salt & vinegar crisp buttys are solid.

Pfft, for highest effectiveness, just take a bite out of a stick of butter, chew it and swallow it. You won't want to see food again for at least 6 hours. You won't feel 'full', but you won't want any food either.

Francesinha, a Portuguese mega sandwich:

francesinha.jpg

It´s made with a sausage, fresh sausage, ham, cold meats and beef stake. Some cook it with loin pork roast. It´s covered with cheese, which is then melt and garnished with a sauce made of tomato, beer and chili. In some places, it´s served with a fried egg (above) and chips.

OP, you're describing food palatbility. In obesity research, it's often called food reward because for example, rats will wake up during the day with regular food next to them, ignore it, walk through electrical shock, and overeat human junk food because of the addictive effect it has on hunger.

Basically to get full faster, eat lightly seasoned lean meats and vegetables. You can eat some starches too, but again less palatable. Boiled potatoes with a pinch of pepper and salt for example, not French fries, mashed potatoes etc.

Poutine.

About halfway through a portion I'm already feeling regret. Delicious, delicious regret. Like, I can actually feel my body slowing down afterwards, as if I'm on the verge of slipping into a cheese curd and gravy induced coma. Worth it, though.

pip pip cheerio fish & chips
wtf? I don't understand everyone on this thread posting the highest calorie/carb/protein-rich foods they can think of?? Isn't OP asking for the opposite: something that feels filling without being artery clogging?

I think what you're looking for is high water content foods like rice, beans, lentils, couscous, stews and soups, jelly, and tropical fruits.

Here's some ideas for stuff you can probably eat a bucket of and are hella cheap and reasonably healthy:

- moroccan spiced vegetable couscous (lots of chickpeas and courgette those are very cheap)
- beef stew with diced potatoes, carrots, lots of celery. You can spread it even further by mixing with rice
- cold pasta salad: green pesto + lemon juice or a simple vinaigrette works great, you can have as is or add beans or salad veggies, try adding feta and sweetcorn to give it a kick.
- DIY jelly with fruit chunks. Oranges are good this time of year. Berries work great. Pineapple might make the texture a bit weird or stop it from setting. Pineapple is weird? You can always throw fruit in on top tho, idk.
- big ole chilli, lots of beans, you can try using seasonal vegetables like sweet potato, squash or pumpkin chunks. Again you can pair this with rice
- popcorn BITCH. Ok that might not be filling, but popcorn and chewing gum are great for habitual nibblers (or should i say chronic mastication hhheheh) popcorn might seem expensive but if you heat your own from kernels it suddenly gets very cheap.
- Also have a glass of water or watery drink! Iced tea works (branded ones usually very sugary tho but thats ok in moderation), or water with a splash of cordial (i like summer fruits or elderflower best when its very diluted) or a squeeze of lemon

About 3 months ago, I started drinking this passionflower/chamomile tea to relax.

Traditional Medicinals Nighty Night

It might all be a placebo effect, but when I'm a little worried or agitated about something, it smooths out the sharp edges of those feelings. But on top that, it does this unexpected thing. It dims my urge to snack in between meals and late at night. Since college, I've eaten a little chocolate or some pastry or ice cream 2 to 3 times a day. But on days that I drink this tea, I don't feel cravings to snack like that. The option to eat them is still there, but they seem less appealing or necessary some how.

It could all be in my head, but I've tried out other teas from this company, like belly comfort or their nighty night version with valerian, and it seemed to stimulate my appetite. So, it's just this specific nighty night tea (without valerian!) that seems to suppress my appetite. And I haven't experienced any bad side effects from it.

Lots of proteins and fat.

Make sure you drink a lot of water too.

Water is my secret weapon. You may be hungry shortly after eating, but drink 16oz or so of water and it "fills" you to the point of not wanting anything else in your stomach for a while. It's a great deterrent when feeling super snacky.

This. I keep a huge fuck off bottle of water on my desk and after lunch or when I feel like snacking I drink water instead. By itself water wont make you feel full, but it'll help if you eat and want more. It's also surprisingly common to confuse mild thirst and hunger.

Scrambled eggs with wholemeal toast is good for filling up. Red lentils in anything with mince (ragu, chilli, etc.) is also a cheap way to bulk a meal.

My first thought was a hot, hearty soup. The one that does it for me is homemade chicken noodle with chicken broth, chicken, noodles, potatoes, carrots. Can throw more veggies in there too, if that's your thing.

Go high protein, high fat, low carb OP. I'm on a keto diet and I often have a full feeling even though I know I haven't eaten much during the day.

Sometimes feeling hungry is actually you feeling thirsty. If you've already eaten and don't feel full, try drinking some water first.

Then wait 20 minutes for both the food and water to settle, chances are you won't be hungry any more.

Also I've read that drinking sparkling water can help with feelings of hunger.

Best advice is, as always, a healthy balanced diet and to drink plenty of water.

Meat and good fats.

I was obese (265lbs 6'2) and would snack all day.

I started ingesting almost nothing but high protein / good-fat stuff (coconut milk, peanut butter, almond butter, eggs, meats, etc.) and my bad cholesterol and weight dropped like a rock. Fat and protein take the longest time to digest and will satiate you far better than a salad will.

lol at people recommending the starchiest foods imaginable.

You got to go with high protein foods like meat and foods with certain kinds of fiber.

Cheap and extremely low on calories (1.5kg = 200 calories)

If you can't eat it by itself pair it with hummus or whatever dip you like.
