Dude, we're running in circles...
People in here are hyped because the mods teased something related to next gen.
Even if Apple announced a streaming service today, Era wouldn't be too hyped about it considering how PS Now and game streaming is perceived on this board.

You can happily feed me some crow, but I stand by what I've responded to you "0 % chance".
You were the guy who predicted that MS will announce a combined gamepass + gold sub before E3. Your track record isn't the best when it comes to bold predictions and I bet my ass that you were team "no way Scorpio will be sold at 500$" at the old place ;P
I said a streaming service and acquiring studios like Insomniac...that would influence sony 1st party with spidey...
Uhm, I'm the guy who predicted MS 1st party AAA titles into gamepass.
I didn't say that gold and gamepass would come together before e3 or anything about scorpio pricepoint...so no.
This is a sony thread mind you...my only comment related to MS was gamepass in relation to PSNow (which I predict that Sony will eventually put their 1st party in there...no timeframe)
But go on with baseless personal attacks...

Yeah...so,we all want Sony 1st party made Broken Sword? :)
The first two are both really wonderful. But I'd love to see like a full, huge budget version. Imagine walking around those locations. I remember when UC2 had that level in the village, how much I wanted a Broken Sword that looked like that.

Sorry pal, if it came accross like a personal attack..not my intention. Let's cut it off right here.

All those Sony folks, calling Bloodborne Souls like it ain' no thang. Warms my heart.

Also, Druckmann with Bloodborne thirst is frightful. Time for that cosmic horror FPS that leaves us all a quivering mess.

As much as hype is entertaining for gifs and meltdowns on Era and elsewhere, it's hardly a valuable commodity in the manner in which we're talking.

How many of the 200/250m console gamers really know about the studios operated by the first parties? It's a tiny amount, and most of them buy all the consoles anyway. It's not valuable in the market performance of those platforms.

It's been bizarre to see the idea that Sony needs to look to MS for leadership. When you're winning a race by double, you don't stop to ask the loser for tips.

I think you're underselling hype and how much of an effect it can have on sales here (see start of this gen). Of course, as you've mentioned studio acquisitions themselves aren't really something that the general person would know about, but they're one of the things that contribute to a general air of optimism and enthusiasm around the brand which can trickle down to that average person.

Playstation is of course doing incredibly well right now, but that doesn't mean they can't look for inspiration elsewhere to be doing even better (and to protect themselves from being even slightly caught up by the competition).

Neil Druckmann just cemented his genius status by picking Bloodborne. I fucking love him.

Give us a Cosmic Horror game for Naughty Dog's new IP, PLEASEEE

Oh I dunno, I like 3 a whole lot more than 5. It did a far better job of retaining that classic Broken Sword vibe in my opinion.

3D point & click adventuring can work, Grim Fandango is proof of that. Whoever works on it just has to make sure it isn't stuffed with block puzzles, that's all. ;)
I've been hoping for quantic dream game to move from branching path story game to genuine point and click adventure with more puzzles etc. Their police/detective character are usually the best character because their gameplay feel more like point and click adventure style with gathering evidence/clues and solving crimes etc.

Dark Sorcerer demo make me want wacky adventure of the old man actor in fantasy world having to ise his wit and 'acting' to solve problems. Something like Discworld in tone

It's true, and I'm not against acquisitions across the board, they can be good when a studios future is in question, but like Insomniac are crazy flush right now, they are in no danger for the next ten years, I'd rather they be independent for as long as it's viable.
I'd love to see what Druckmann can do with bloodborne inspired game.
The basement of the hotel in TLoU made me shit bricks, I'd love him to go ham on a horror game.

Seems like we got tweets from the Playstation account every full hour since their anniversary tweet. So next tweet maybe in 11 minutes? (Of course this could be unrelated)

Oh yeah, I definitely don't think Insomniac will be selling any time soon, they're flush with Spiderman cash for the foreseeable future now.

Man it's good to see how much credit God of War's getting from devs.

Going in to this gen I never would have thought for one second I would have been even interested in a God of War game, let alone end up loving it so much.

I think the only thing holding it back from surpassing Last of Us level for me is that it lacks those huge big "gut punch" moments in the story that TLOU does so well.

Agreed on all counts, QD really have it in them to make a full-fledged adventure game/detective sim. Would like to see them do something of a Telltale reversal. Telltale made their best games when they weren't interactive movies and had actual puzzles in them, like Tales of Monkey Island and Back to the Future. Not that there's anything wrong with interactive movies as a genre, but Telltale never had the expertise in high-grade graphical fidelity and animation to do it justice.
