The Pichu portrait in that screenshot doesn't cut off this way though. Pac Man's hand may be cut off but notice it's within the square there. Pichu's ear is sticking out of the square and is just randomly cut off.It isn't, E3 builds shows the portraits like that, for example....
Well, it's not random because it matches a video edit zoom in from the E3 Direct where they show Pichu's icon in a box to show he still hurts himself with his own electricity.
Because the shading and materials are completely wrong, his muscles shouldn't be that defined by the shading and in general the materials for his skin and gi are way off, they almost look airbrushed.
Could have chose a more exciting character to leak haha. But the screenshot looks off. I think he'll be in the game though as an echo fighter.
And also decided to set up the characters all nice and next to each other all doing taunts, so the argument that his would be a quick snap shot while no one was looking doesn't really work either.
Yeah the Pichu scale is not selling this. Ken looks slightly believable but kinda off. Seems likely he'll be in this though not considering this screenshot.
Super-convincing fakes have been made before, so I have my doubts. But in the case of Ken, I'm already expecting him to show up as a Ryu echo, so it doesn't really make much of a difference either way.
Rex is probably gonna be DLC (if any). Remember, his design was finalized almost a year after Ultimate's base roster was locked in.

Eh that'd be too many capcom reps. I think mega man and ryu are enough honestly.
Yes, the shading is wrong, it also doesn't match any of the other more realistic characters like Ryu.
I am aware that clones fighter will always be a thing but it just feels like that most of the "new" fighters in Smash Ultimate are either clone/echo fighters, barring Ridley, K.Rool, Inkling and Simon who all feel like safe choices.
The roster just feels boring to me and I am waiting for an exciting wild card character to be in the game, perhaps like Travis Touchdown or Wonder Red.
While I want Ken to be in the game, I hope this is fake purely because I really don't like that model.
Ken's polycount matches that of Ryu's at a glance. It holds up in that regard.
I believe this is real and people saying the model looks bad don't realise Ken has (almost always) been an ugly motherfucker.

It's such a boring leak that it's hard to have much of an opinion. The ultimate smash fighting game that has echoes was always going to include the echoest of echoes.

Hell I think people who say it looks bad probably don't realize the game in general has some questionable models as is. We've had people in the thread saying Chrom looks like shit for the better month. Ironically this is probably one of the better looking Ken models I've seen.

It's not about what's interesting or boring, it's about what's plausible.
Rumors, leaks, the fact that Simon got Richter as an echo, convenience, Ken being a gaming icon.
It all makes for a really plausible situation.
