woo, glad this was announced, would have been awkward to pretend a switch version doesn't exist if you didn't want to get banned for port begging.
i'm guilty of this. i don't even play video games much. it's been a week since i've started xb2 and i've only played like 15 hours.
Add Warframe to that list. The game is stellar but requires lots of time.
We don't know anything about first party titles, at the moment, and I think they will be around 2/3 of the Direct, so 20 minutes out of 30.
I can't believe that these games are all being announced for Switch every day and not in a 35min video.
This was actually going to be a decent Direct, I was expecting something lesser after a few disappointing showings this summer. Still looking forward to it, hopefully there are still one or two surprised left.
A game was leaked, another was announced... That's like one minute of the Direct.

They're not the bad guys... yet, but:
1) They should have announced a new date immediately after the delay even if it is 2 weeks later, cause this lack of information plus some of the releases getting leaked or announced by third parties is a bit annoying.
2) Remember the whole premise of this particular Direct wasn't much about the announcements but more selling you on the Online Service (and showing games for the 3DS), cause if you look at the response on social media, people are still not interested in it (nobody's getting excited on the idea of playing Mario Bros online), and this is supposed to launch in the second half of September so they don't have much time, the first half is almost gone.
Plus also reminder that their goal is to sell 20M Switches at the end of the fiscal year, so they should always keep building the momentum until the end of the year if they want to reach it or at least go close, dealing with droughts in the last 3-4 months where usually sales are stronger is absolutely what you should avoid.
This is so true ! We already have those idiots during E3 saying "jeez why is Reggie talking ? We're wasting times !!", if he wasn't talking the direct would just be shorter, wtf.
Some do, yes. And their voices are more amplified within a core gamer circle like ERA.
Th-That's still an average of over two hours per day. I think you have a very skewed perception of what not playing video games much means.
In a way it kind of is because we're like "oh wait was that part of the Direct?? Or that!?!"
The smart way would be announcing at the usual time (4 to 6 PM) and have it launch the very same day at midnight (European time) just to get it out of the way for once.
The Nintendo way would be pretending nothing happened and that social media and the web 2.0 in its entirety doesn't exist and try to start once again a hype cycle almost 2 days before the Direct.

We were lacking some lengthy online coop multiplayer games on Switch so thats a fitting announcement.
It's a fun little puzzle. The low-energy folks with their 'this makes the direct irrelevant' are a bit tiring, but all in all it's great fun!
Nintendo should announce it in 3 hours and just release the Direct in 12 hours. Just do it all in one day (Monday).
In a perfect world this would happen. I really don't want the Direct to be on Wednesday (I guess that would be Tuesday for most of you guys) because i'm busy that day.
I'll answer you in here as well a bit more detailed just because I'm at work and have not much to do atm lol.
So again, it's a really great co-op game, but you would like to have at least 3 people playing for multiple reasons.
You have to carry a chalice that protects u from the toxic air in some radius. The more people u have the less there's infighting on who has to carry it lol. Also there are objectives in each dungeon like "don't use spells", that determine the order in which you can loot after the boss.
Also the real time spell combination system (which is fantastic) needs 3 players minium to get the best spells like Blizzara.
It is not a good single player game due to the one absolutely dumb decision of the dev team ot let a moogle carry your chalice when you're solo, but he get's tired every other minute and then u have to carry it yourself. It's abysmal lol.
The soundtrack belongs to one of the best in the FF universe, and that's saying something. The combat itself is just a simple three button press combo, but it's still better that something like Diablo lol. Great enemy and boss design, great artdesign.
If you don't have friends nearby let's hope for online, though that's not as fun.
Argos point Nintendo might as well drop the announcement AND the direct today. I understand the respect and delay and all. But ,their competitor just gave thejt presentation for TGS. It's their turn to go. Don't tweet an announcement and expect another 24 hour plus hype cycle. But who am I kidding, we will get the announcement Wednesday night and the direct will be Thursday night.

They normally announce a direct at a time of 1 hours and 40 minutes away from now (or 2 hours and 40 minutes). Tweets can be scheduled, NoJ doesn't actually need to be in office (in fact, they often aren't when directs are announced on twitter).
Good for FFCC fans out there, I personnally hated this game because none of my friends could afford buying a GBA + a Link cable just to be able to play this gorgeous game.
Yeah, other player were FORCED to use a GBA AND a Link cable to be able to play with you. Probably one of the most stupidest thing ever.
Also, gotta love to have to wear the chalice while other players do the fun stuff. Or be stuck with only one magic for the whole dungeon without being able to change during the dungeon (like Children of Mana).
I would've prefered Ring of Fates Remake or even the Wii FFCC, but that's still good news for the fans. The soundtrack is amazing (with the graphics, it's the only thing I still love for FFCC on the GameCube).
