1080 Ti owner here. I've also had the urge to upgrade several times to the 30xx series but whenever I try to, I cannot catch stock anywhere :(

This is me right now, I'll be playing some games on consoles and others on PC until the 4000 series most likely. The fact that consoles are now providing 60fps options is a huge deal for me. I won't play a game on consoles without it. Since my setup isn't consistently hitting 60fps with newer games now it's becoming viable to play that same game on console instead. Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a good example. Not competitive and a controller feels great and modern consoles run it really well. I can get a shaky 60fps on PC or just play it more comfortably on a PS5 or xsx.

✋ 1080Ti / i7 7700k reporting in

Still plays anything at 1440p. AMD FSR might make it last for even longer haha

1070 and an i7 8700k

Supply and prices in Canada is why I haven't upgraded. Technically I can afford it, but finding a new card is hard and the value for money seems poor.

I'm also in a bit of a rut where I mostly play the same 3 or 4 games so I wonder if it is worth investing in this hobby anymore.

1080ti/i7 4770k here.

Can still play most games I want at 4k, but then I'm not chasing AAA. I'd love a 3000 series but prices and stock issues mean I'm sticking with what I have for a while longer.

was on a 1060, wanted to upgrade to a 3060Ti, but ended up getting a 1080Ti when I realized the problems were going to continue for long and just bought it before it went up in prices. Now it's 2x what it costed me phew. Pretty happy with it and the R5 3600, I play at 1080p 144hz and also with a 4K TV, for which I tweak internal resolution to 1800p on more demanding games to get 60fps, and it goes very well.

Would still like to upgrade to a 3000 series, but nothing less than a 3070 makes sense, and it'll be long before they get to a reasonable price

GTX 1060 6 gig for me. It came with the PC I bought and I haven't been able to upgrade since. I'll grab a newer xx60 or something when things calm down since I do a lot of triple screen simracing.

Rocking a GTX 560 SOC. Yeah, haven't played a game on PC in a long time. Also switched from Windows to Ubuntu because gaming was really the only reason not to do that back in the day.

Ryzen 5900X with 1080Ti, still a beast of a GPU though I'd like to upgrade so I hope prices go somewhat back to normal before year's end.

On a 1060 6GB with a Ryzen 3600. Can still get 60-120 fps on most games at 1080p (fuck Cyberpunk and its garbage performance though.)

1070 here. The CPU is aging more significantly, but with the current state of the PC component market, I'm not upgrading any time soon. Plus I have a PS5 and Series X so there's really no need to. Maybe in a couple years if and/or when the shortage has worked itself.

Does it actually use both GPU chips in games these days.
Or is it effectively running as a GTX680 now.
I don't run most modern games, but SLI support is so poor I doubt it runs them both often. I know I ran into issues with Unity games like Subnautica and The Forest. I think Witcher 3 utilizes it well with compatibility bits. Those are more or less the latest non-indie games I play.

I technically don't, but my laptop GPU performs about like a desktop GTX 1080 in games without raytracing or DLSS.

Used to have a 1070 Ti, which was a great card. I bought a second monitor which supports 1440p at 144Hz and suddenly it was just not good enough anymore. Managed to snatch a 3080 FE though, so I'm kinda fine for a while. Still need to upgrade my CPU next (rocking a i7 6700 lol).

While your 6700 is def a bottleneck its still Ryzen 5 3600 levels of performance, so getting to 120fps shouldnt be all that hard.
Youve got time to wait for Alderlake and PCIE5/DDR5 before you'd "need" to upgrade for high refreshrate gaming.

GTX 1070 here, and believe me when I say that this is NOT for the lack of attempts to upgrade.

Anyway, it's still serving me well enough right now, especially since the rest of my PC is fresh from purchase in December.
Still waiting for the day I'll find a RTX 3080 at human prices, though.

1660 Ti here. Had it since they launched, more-or-less, and it's been a great card. Starting to struggle now, so it's a 1080p/normal settings card in new games but that's fine. Had I delayed my purchase until AMD returned to form in GFX cards like I was planning to, I wouldn't have been able to buy one due to the availability and I'd still be using my R9 290.

Even my HTPC/occasional gaming Alienware Alpha (original i3 model) is still good for a lot of games. In fact, I'm struggling to find something with an iGPU good enough to replace it. Even the new 5700G probably won't be enough.

Definitely gonna wait and see how Alder Lake performs. Got my CPU for 5 years now, so might as well wait a bit longer. I'm just jealous of how those modern CPUs, like those Ryzen ones, performs in games with those 1% and .1% lows. My 6700 has a lot less consistent framerates in triple A titles.

I had a 980 before I got my 3070 lmao. Back then I didn't upgrade because I thought prices were too high. How I wish to return to the days when you could just order PC parts and not have to worry much about stock.

Eyyyy, good move. Welcome to the FOSS side. Have you checked out Proton at all? It's insane how many Steam games work on Linux out of the box now.

I'm still rocking an RX580, which I think is from the same period? I would have upgraded my whole PC this year, but we all know how that turned out.

I'm still using a GTX 770... been wanting to build a new PC, but I don't really want to deal with that nightmare right now. I don't do much PC gaming anymore anyway.

I have a 1080 ……
Inside a laptop
So it's basically a 1070 Ti in performance
Thankfully the consoles are really high in performance this time so I got em
Maybe when 4080 or 5080 is out I'll get em

Still got a Rx580 as a stopgap after my 1070 crapped out on me.

Cost me £100 used 18 months ago, now they go for anywhere between £250 to £400.

Nah, the gtx 1060 is from around that time with similar performance to rx580

Still rocking a 1070ti FTW2 here, bought it for $300 when there was a price error on Amazon and stacked an Amex deal on top of it.

Actually got a 3070 FE free via a much delayed shipping refund (refund came through and it arrived the following day) but foolishly (or graciously with a small markup) sold it for $700 bucks in hopes that that would cover a 3080 upgrade purchase back in December.

I was low on funds when my 970 died last year and got a 1650 Super to hold me off till I could find a GTX 3080. But fuck it, this thing words well enough for what I do.

i have a 1070 and a 6700k . I didn't had any intentions to upgrade soon but with warhammer 3 suposedly coming this year I think i'll upgrade so that i can experience the game as best as i can afford it.
I'll probably be buying a 4060 or a 4070 assuming they will release in 2022. And whatever is the best Intel processor at that time.

A lot of people I'm guessing. Like, these are the most common cards of Steam users, in order:

Still on 1060 here. Seems based on this percentage, I'm a basic bitch.

Still using a 1060 X with 6GB of VRAM coupled with a 144hz monitor. Sadly, I don't see myself upgrading it any time soon.

Yeah. 1050ti.

I bought a 2060 Super but it had some weird fan noise (not coil whine) so I sent it back. Mostly play on console so saw that as a sign I should hold off.

Was interested in a 3070 and even won a lottery thing to buy a founder's edition at launch but ended up foregoing it as the retailer's communication annoyed me and I was getting a PS5/XSX around the same time.
