This seems more damaging to Biden than Trump.

This is the redacted transcript. The Chosen Orange released a transcript of himself asking the president of Ukraine to "do him a favor" and look into his political opponents after laying out how much support the US is giving Ukraine.

There is evidence of high crimes, even in a redacted, cleaned up transcript of one phone call.

This transcript was released because it was intended to exculpate 45. This is supposed to be the version that gets him off the impeachment hook. We haven't even seen the whistle-blowers complaint yet.

It's unbelievable that anyone thinks that 45 has a strategy. He commits crimes and then compounds them with unforced error after unforced error. He's truly an imbecile.

He is being accused of quid pro quo-investigate Biden or I withhold aide. The transcript clears him of that.

Whether anyone has an issue with him asking a foreign leader to work with our government to investigate Biden is a different topic entirely.

On the other hand it seems like there is an issue with Biden and his son here, but again different topic.

How is there anything wrong with this? I know we all want Trump to be impeached and imprisoned but y'all are making this into something it isn't and just coming across as ignorant. What law is broken by Trump asking the Ukrainian pres to look into corruption?

This seems more damaging to Biden than Trump.

You guys are absolutely, 100% transparent trolls. Get the fuck out of here with this shit.

Markets have rallied on this news. They seem to like the transcript.

I at least appreciate that you're trying to be a bit subtle here.

My favorite part is that he might have sunk himself in an effort to sink Biden, when the best way to sink Biden is to let him talk.
And while this is all happening, Warren has been steadily and consistently rising, to the point that it's very possible Trump did all this and winds up not facing Biden in 2020 at all.

No one here is going to pull up the exact law and your response after most of those helpful replies was still "show me where he broke the law" as if we're members of Congress. If you don't get it by now, that's something else.
It's amazing how we are like in a repeat of Trump supporting talking points. This has to be like the 10th time they have used this one. You'd think eventually they would come to some kind of self-realization that, Jesus, Trump sure gets himself into these situations that at best skirts the laws, maybe he's a bad guy.

You're defending the president of the United States with "show me what law he broke!"

The. President. of. America.

But, got to own the libs, after all, and also, open racism is nice.

Recalling the email is pointless anyway.

Matt Gaetz already outted the whole thing.

Plus, we'll all know what the email talking points are tonight on Hannity and Carlson, when they dedicate their entire shows to each talking point, one-by-one. They might even have Rudy Giuliani come on and do a reading for them.

Dems should get in lockstep on these points:

We need the unredacted whistleblower report
The transcript is incomplete, it was a 30 minute call
Even the transcript shows apparent strongarming by Trump
Why was Ukrainian aid withheld? We need the internal comms on that
We welcome the whistleblower to come testify

BTW Chuck Todd, your "insightful" question about why if the president was concerned about Biden corruption in Russia just have the FBI investigate has two answers :

1. They already did some standard investigation of related matters that contain unflattering Michael Steele aspects about the president.
2. Using the FBI to investigate a political opponent would put Barr and others in the cross hairs of the exact same crime but with domestic ramifications.

That's not to say it's a bad question but it actually has answers that aren't rhetorical.

A President can't even withhold aid anymore, ask for a favor which is getting dirt on a political opponent in tandem with his defense attorneys Guliani and Barr, directly after said aid was brought up.

Grosbard is right, you guys have asses.

He's a fucking dumbass surrounded by fucking dumbasses. I don't think anyone in his orbit has a clue about anything. Barr pushed for this memo that links him to all this mess to be released over objections by Pompeo. It's just.... a bunch of dumfucks walking into walls I guess.

Sounds like Barr wants to be in a position to recuse himself.

Can you imagine if he recused himself from investigating this, like Sessions did with the Mueller probe?

Can you imagine Trump's face if Barr tells Trump he has to recuse himself from investi-shielding Trump from Trump's own madness?

Well it's not legal to withhold a whistleblower complaint from congress while sharing it with the white house and the president's lawyer, for one
lets not engage with idiots.
accepting any foreign aid in an election is illegal, period.
then you have the quid pro quo of him asking to investigate Biden's son after Zelenksy asks to buy more Javelins.

If there was any coherent strategy behind this release, it's probably the thought that this transcript was going to be found ANYWAY so they wanted to create an appearance of cooperation while being able to sell the thought to their base that "it MUST have been nothing, because only an idiot would release something that is damaging to themselves".
