Given how that other thread went, I did actually wondered which of the two games would sell better. Both have a lot going for it from both a casual and hardcore perspective and both are among the highest sellers of fighting game franchises.

Bruh we've barely even seen anything for MK11.

Definitely Smash, I don't see MK11 having as long of a life cycle as a Smash game.

mk has always been, to me, an american series with limited appeal to the rest of the world (because it's ugly and the character designs are bad). how does it sell outside of the usa?

Smash.

MK11 will die once Injustice 3 is announced and it'll super-die when they announce MK12.

The better question would be if MK + SF together could match Smash lol.

i was going to respond to this thread but changed my mind.

But I will say how I hate what I typed is still saved on the "post replay" table.

On topic: I'm buying both at least.

Smash. Even if we only get one season of DLC for Ultimate (which is honestly pretty likely), Smash will keep on selling. NRS brings out a new game every two years, which doesn't help with long-term sales.

Coming into the threading thinking OP is talking about Mario Kart 11.
Smash, without a single doubt.

Tekken 7 + Dead or Alive 6 + SoulCalibur 6 + Injustice 2 + Street Fighter V + Mortal Kombat 11 combined will sell less than Smash Ultimate.

Life cycle as in DLC or sales? If you mean DLC, I'm not expecting Smash to have much DLC beyond this Fighters Pass since Sakurai worked between Wii U/3DS & Ultimate (plus DLC for both) with little time to take a breather.....adding up to 8 years between 2012 & February 2020. MK11 on the other hand will likely get a few fighter packs before Injustice 3's hype cycle gets going. If you mean shelf life, then yeah, Smash definitely has MK11 beat. As mentioned before, NRS bringing out games so often doesn't do their long-term sales any favors.
