Just checked RT and there are 9 reviews up. All glowing as you said. I can't wait. The handful of Central Park reviews I've seen are all great, nothing to worry about there.
I'm one of the few who really enjoyed Avenue 5 so maybe this will be awesome. Or maybe the comparison's are no deeper than "in space and comedy."
After watching Upload on Amazon (another Greg Daniels show) I was starting to strongly suspect Daniels works best when with another showrunner. It almost lands but not quite and has the same issues with being too broad comedically and jokes aren't earned. I enjoyed it as a slight easy watch so I suspect I'll enjoy spaceforce as a background show but I was pretty prepared for this. Hopefully he'll get some wittier writers in the room for season 2 of both shows and they'll find their groove but if not don't expect much more than dated, stale and occasionally chuckle worthy
Don't get me wrong I was happy with Upload but it's nowhere near the level of the office, parks and rec or even the good place. It's fine for a slightly forgettable broad comedy but it's not exactly what I expected for Daniels. While Spaceforce may end up reviewing worse Upload didn't exactly set the world on fire. I expect Upload will probably end up as the slightly preferred show of the two thoughUpload really works for me while what I've seen of this doesn't. The reviewers seem to back that up, generally. Still, if it ended up being on the level of Upload, I'd be pretty happy.
I thought Avenue 5 started off pretty bad but I really enjoyed the 2nd half of the season. I'm excited for more.
Don't most Greg Daniels shows get better once they get past the first season
Well, when you consider that Greg Daniels had nothing to do with Parks and Rec after season 1, that might have something to do with its sudden jump in quality.Don't most Greg Daniels shows get better once they get past the first season

That ain't true, he wasn't showrunning but he still had input and occasionally directedWell, when you consider that Greg Daniels had nothing to do with Parks and Rec after season 1, that might have something to do with its sudden jump in quality.
Make that four. I agree it took a bit to get going, but I thought it was hilarious.
I remember thinking during the trailer, when Steve was singing "Kokomo" for like 30 seconds, "is this the joke?"
Has Carell really been in anything noteworthy since 2013? Feels like everything since has been mediocre.
