There is a possibility today that Sony May release the price for the PlayStation 5. Based off the bill of material rumor, most likely we might see a $500 Playstation system release price at launch in November 2020.

Me personally, $500 is my limit unless I sell my PlayStation 4 to cover the extra $100 if it's priced at $600. Definitely will be here at launch buying the system since it is backwards compatible with the PlayStation 4.

What are you guys thought some process on this?

I hope it's $501 just to break your limit

Price is whatever to me, people (myself included) spend so much on phones which last maybe half the time of a console

Anything $600 and under is reasonable in my book with the tech that they're packing in there.

The PS4 was a great value at $400 in 2013 but trying to play games on one for the last few years has not been a good experience.

PS4 was £349. £399 I'm delighted. £449 is what I expect. £499 is the limit of what I think I'd spend. I'll be offloading my PS4/XO before launch.

Maybe I'm the outlier here but it's really way less about price than what games are available at launch for me. It'd be great if it was $400 or even cheaper (not that I expect that), but I really wanna see what's launching with it first. Hell, I'd pay up to $600 depending on the games
new wipeout sony pls

$499 is too much to spend to play a bunch of launch window games. I'll wait for a price drop and for something worth playing.

Your poll is missing the option:

"It's $499, which is a steal. So I'm buying Day 1."

Don't care what price it is, I'll only buy it in a few years most likely.

People are freaking out about price, but I give it a very low chance we see it today. It's not the right time yet. I give it like 60% chance of even seeing the box.

See ArmGunar's very detailed post about possible pricing. It most likely won't be announced today, though.

Games are more important to me.

My PS4 is an exclusives machine. I'll buy a PS5 when there are enough exclusives to warrant a purchase.

If Japanese publishers step up their game on PC, I'll probably never buy a PS5 tbh, much like how I never bought a XB1/will probably never buy a XSX

I don't really think I can complain about price when my phone probably ends up costing double that. The cheaper the better though ofcourse.

$499 is what I'm expecting and I'm in at the price. If there was a more premium version at $599 I'd probably consider it because games use so much storage these days.

Price is irrelevant unless it's something stupid like 1000$

What's relevant is what's delivered at that price.

Hardware, services, games, etc.

For me, it's not so much the price itself as it's the price difference between the two consoles. I'm probably going to be a console day 1 regardless. But if there is a $100+ difference between the two that'll definitely influence my opinion slightly.

Price doesn't really matter to me, so long as we're in triple digits territory I'm buying it.

But either way, have a gut feeling that we aren't getting the price today.

Nothing over 400+ And not even 400 if there's nothing that personally interests me. I'll wait for a price drop or a special deal. 500$ is too much for something I can get way cheaper in a few years as it'll probably be my supplementary console anyway.

$499 is not that high for a launch, but I won't buy one till like 2-3 years down the line, unless flatmates come together to purchase one

If a decent 1.65TB pack with two pads and another extra is out, I'd go upto £599 - price isn't a major concern, but their attitude needs to be right

Base for others needs to be sub £499 at least

I'm probably gonna spend close to 1k on a GPU this year so i don't really care if its 499 or 599.

i'm more interested in what the hell the price of the add on ssd will be. i imagine that most people will have to buy an add on fairly quick into the ps5's life.

Expecting $450-500.

And would still get one day one for that. Especially if the rumours of a new Ratchet at launch are true. But mostly because FOMO.

Can't see how it can possibly be $400 without Sony taking a huge loss. But then their PS Plus revenue is so high that maybe they'd do it.

It's a business expense for me so ultimately the price doesn't matter

I expect it to be more than 500 at least

Well, you'll buy it if it costs $999??

500€ is a reasonable price for a day one console. More than that is crazy.

If retro with PS4 is confirmed, 499€ will be ok as long as some stores will discount it if I give them back my PS4 PRO.
If retro not confirmed I will wait, because I still have many games to play before the next gen... :P

I would probably preorder at any price, then take the next few months before launch to see if it is still worth that price to me. If not, I would cancel. But I probably won't cancel.

The pricing doesn't matter to me (Unless it was like $800 or something insane), they would really have to put something crazy out at launch for me to consider buying day 1.

Honestly, I'm not sure.

599 is an absolute NO GO. 499.... I don't know, it depends on where I am at launch, and what titles it launches.
