E: LATE

Maybe Tom is just concerned that the Satellite Caucus Sites were awarding too few SDEs to Bernie? And he just wanted a bigger victory?

Or maybe not.

The whole process has been abnormal with irregularities abound way before. Again, why now? The timing is atrocious.
oh give me a break. tom perez can sneeze at an inopportune time and people would be in here crying rigging. it's ridiculous. there is literally no way they could have handled this that would have convinced people they're not trying to stomp bernie.
Everyone should be scared of the DNC tomfoolery - these idiots could cost the Dems the election.
you know what else could cost dems the election? constant conspiracy theories about how the election is being rigged! it's super toxic if the nominee isn't bernie, and if it is bernie - why bother to vote if everyone has been telling you for months that ~the establishment~ won't let him win!

It's cool to be cute with little snipes, but being a condescending shit stain also isn't acceptable. So how about you cut the shit?
Watergate and the term ratfucking are both in the influential political book (and movie) I mentioned earlier. It has been influential on modern language, even outside of political contexts, but sometimes the terms are used in their original meaning. Now, I'm off to be cute.

Literally the best thing people defending party leadership can say is that they are all impossible fuckups. Like, even if, for some reason, you think this isn't a transparent attempt to nullify a potential Sanders victory, you can't deny that it looks that way.

Remember when Epstein died and everybody in the world reserved judgement, waited for more evidence, and said "hold on guys, let's be rational about this?" No, you don't, because they all just unanimously shouted "bullshit!" because that's what it looked like.

If you don't think this is a problem, then how severe does the appearance of corruption need to be before it becomes one?
The two-party system is such a cancer on the US.

Idk maybe the DNC shouldn't be giving them reason to think that?? They're doing this to themselves. The fault lies with the DNC no matter how you spin this.

I hear you, but this really isn't the time for this message when you have the Biden campaign openly saying they don't trust the results etc. This caucus was a pretty singular and epic fuckup and there has to be questions asked (which, granted, some may be misguided)

insofar as asking for a recount is bad optically, having it come out that you are asking for a recount explicitly because you believe that the satellite caucuses, where sanders has won essentially unopposed, should be worth less is catastrophically tone-deaf

the only thing he ever should have done is come out and say "SDEs don't matter, they're an interstitial piece of determining national delegates, they're tied in national delegates, we're going to assign the SDEs equally and move on" but now he looks like a fucking clown

I'm very excited to await your next lesson where you explain to me Deep Throat wasn't just the name of a 70's porno but was actually an informant for this "Gate" thing.

Buttigieg should be tried and convicted for election manipulation and influencing by falsely claiming victory when the majority of the votes weren't even in yet.

I cannot fucking believe that after 3 days, now the news is: DNC CHAIR CALLS FOR RECANVASSING, not Bernie's victory.

Get the fuck outta here with this. This cannot get any more comical.

Biden released an official statement saying to not trust the results like five seconds into the returns. But when Bernie supporters call out the DNC for acting shady about something for the billionth time, we're being toxic.

Fuck outta here.

Same number of National Delegates, thousands more votes for Bernie but Pete is the winner. Makes total sense

Until this year they never even published popular vote numbers - just SDEs. In that case, Pete would have been the undisputed 'winner' since the actual number of popular votes is irrelevant for dividing up the state delegates and we wouldn't have known them anyway. Blame the caucus and its stupidity for where we are now, but also remember that the main reason Bernie is still being taken seriously is, among other things, because of his domination in state caucuses in 2016 - the process bites both ways.

and then Democrats wonder why people don't vote
I mean if people are going to be that petty over 1% of total delegates, that's on them. Just weird that the DNC has been calling for the de-emphasis of caucuses along with plenty of other people for years and they get resistance for it by certain people...

But sitting home over this? Just a weird reaction as the fascism comes marching in.

Nah. The recanvass is to put the focus on Iowa and their state's process, not any of the candidates. It's just a thorough check, and also to check that the rules Sanders wanted were followed. We know in large part they were because he picked up the satellite caucuses and more first-rounders were counted. Iowa itself has reporting problems, and has had them way before the app or rules changes or anything else.

So let me get this right:

Tom Perez wanted to do a recount, the IDP told him to go fuck himself, so he decides to make this feud public to try and pressure the IDP into doing what he wants?

This is impossible. Iowa fucking up was actually a long game put into motion years ago just to get Bernie.

I don't understand why they're so excited to undermine their own credibility this way. Everyone knew the hand counts had Sanders ahead.
Maybe because they're not actually trying to ratfuck the results and they just want to double check everything 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Ok, a four second clip that is technically true if you went by delegate counts at that point isn't really proof but I also only read articles and don't watch 24/7 cable news, which is why I'm not in the loop of the endless garbage that is cable broadcast news.
I don't read Slate lol
"Can someone show me one time the media went with the narrative Pete won"

..."no all of those don't count"

This is comical

Bernie's stream starting now:

This speech reminds me of what I love about Bernie. He knows this process is entirely skewed against him but he acknowledges everybody who's been wronged by it, isn't confrontational and doesn't throw anybody beneath him under the bus. That personal attitude packaged with the policies he supports...he'd really make a great president. I hope people come out for him.

And Tom Perez fucking sucks.
