Was watching the Sanders press conference. Sorry to rain on your sick "GOT EM" post.
Same number of National Delegates, thousands more votes for Bernie but Pete is the winner. Makes total sense
oh give me a break. tom perez can sneeze at an inopportune time and people would be in here crying rigging. it's ridiculous. there is literally no way they could have handled this that would have convinced people they're not trying to stomp bernie.
you know what else could cost dems the election? constant conspiracy theories about how the election is being rigged! it's super toxic if the nominee isn't bernie, and if it is bernie - why bother to vote if everyone has been telling you for months that ~the establishment~ won't let him win!

I hear you, but this really isn't the time for this message when you have the Biden campaign openly saying they don't trust the results etc. This caucus was a pretty singular and epic fuckup and there has to be questions asked (which, granted, some may be misguided)
insofar as asking for a recount is bad optically, having it come out that you are asking for a recount explicitly because you believe that the satellite caucuses, where sanders has won essentially unopposed, should be worth less is catastrophically tone-deaf

Biden released an official statement saying to not trust the results like five seconds into the returns. But when Bernie supporters call out the DNC for acting shady about something for the billionth time, we're being toxic.

Until this year they never even published popular vote numbers - just SDEs. In that case, Pete would have been the undisputed 'winner' since the actual number of popular votes is irrelevant for dividing up the state delegates and we wouldn't have known them anyway. Blame the caucus and its stupidity for where we are now, but also remember that the main reason Bernie is still being taken seriously is, among other things, because of his domination in state caucuses in 2016 - the process bites both ways.
I mean if people are going to be that petty over 1% of total delegates, that's on them. Just weird that the DNC has been calling for the de-emphasis of caucuses along with plenty of other people for years and they get resistance for it by certain people...

Nah. The recanvass is to put the focus on Iowa and their state's process, not any of the candidates. It's just a thorough check, and also to check that the rules Sanders wanted were followed. We know in large part they were because he picked up the satellite caucuses and more first-rounders were counted. Iowa itself has reporting problems, and has had them way before the app or rules changes or anything else.
This is impossible. Iowa fucking up was actually a long game put into motion years ago just to get Bernie.

Likely due to found instances of inconsistent precinct data.
This speech reminds me of what I love about Bernie. He knows this process is entirely skewed against him but he acknowledges everybody who's been wronged by it, isn't confrontational and doesn't throw anybody beneath him under the bus. That personal attitude packaged with the policies he supports...he'd really make a great president. I hope people come out for him.
