I've bought the bundle, but never used Itch.io before. Tend to prefer couch gaming via steam link these days. Does anyone know if the game files work without issue when you add them as a non steam game to your library?

Lol the sites of games went from 25 to 48. Almost 1.500 items.
I will add them ALL soon and kill my freshly set up playnite library.

This depends on the games. Some work, some don't. At least that is my expierence with non-native Steam games via Steam Link.
You should use something like Playnite instead:
playnite.link

Playnite - video game library manager

Video game library manager with one simple goal: To provide a unified interface for all of your games.

here
while it might be cartoonish how many game have been added to this bundle (and there's likely more to come), im so happy about the money that's been raised as a result

this is money that will support a whole bunch of people in a myriad of ways

Finally managed to wrap my head around this. Not a gam everybody will appreciate as it doesnt have any instructions and seemingly no directions. However the game is actually moore than just a pretty cartograpghy tool. It is like a piece of technology nobody gave you instructions for and you are tasked to piece together the inner workings while the world you are looking at starts to take shape. Wonderful little game, hard sell though if you dont know if this is something you might enjoy, so cool more people can try it out now. 4/5

This game is raw and unapologetic. This is the antithesis to softwashed unpolitical AAA games for the masses. Its a mix of a visual novel with relatively straight forward mech combat in which you fight Neonazis as a group of queer fuckups who vent their anger by striking back at all the unfair elements the system throws at them. If you dont want politics in your game, then this game is definitely not for you, but you might find something very refreshing and soothing about this group of survivors acting out their anger for you, even if it is decidedly raw around many edges. 3/5

Surprised to see the low attention this game apparently gets. Its a tactical twin stick shooter, meaning its not as frantic and visually overwhelming as some of its brethren and instead gives you a plethora of tools to control the flow of combat. It looks gorgeous, has some frankly insanely interesting ideas and themes (collecting DNA from killed enemies that you splice into random DNA mutations for progress), some very cool level progression/exploration mechanics and very good sound design. Easily one of the most underappreciated games I looked at so far. There are some small weirdnesses, like the frequent random fire storms and some camera angles if you need to move around tight corners, but this is good, real good. 4,5/5

I loved mu cartographer. It is so strange and so alien. But I ended up finishing it in one session, I can recommend it.

A videogame interpretation of what its like to work in a retail store. Angry customers, stress, an endless amount work and your manager sitting in your neck. Unique take, definitely worth checking out the craziness of managing your rack filling duties, while you anxiously peek around the corner to see if any customer tries to approach you about their lost children or item that they force you to find. Relentless depiction. Not the best "game" in the world, but interesting to check out. 2,5/5

Amazing. In a sea of zelda clones, it manages to iterate and invent a completely unique niche for itself. Its not one massive adventure, but rather a slice of adventure that you can relive multiple times, which will allow you play and experience the game in very, very weird and intentionally glitchy ways in sequential playthroughs with different maps or different rules. Not only does the story throw surprising beats that seriously intrigue the player to push forward (and I really dont want to spoil here), but the amount of replayability, randomly generated dungeons and modes (How about a whole game generated for everyone daily that you can compete with) and the resulting endless content make this a ridiculously great get from the bundle. 5/5

Dwarf Fortress lite that is more accessible and easier digestable with less options and less crazy physics than its ancient brethren. It scratches a very similar itch on the surface, especially while you still get to know the ins and outs of how the game and its progress works, but because Dwarf Fortress runs so deep (pun intended) it offers endless replayability to toy around with its simulations and mechanics. This feels like a more laid back version of that, but it should be a great first entry point if you were always curious about Dwarf Fortress but found the initial entry hurdle to daunting and needed a more understandable UI. If you enjoy this, you absolutely owe it to yourself to properly learn DF at one point though. 3/5

Thanks for highlighting this. I don't know the last time I actually played through a game on PC but this is for the cause, and to encourage future actions like this, I'm in.

It has like 30 Steam reviews, where did you stumble upon it? Puzzling to me it doesnt get any buzz to be honest.

It was in a bundle on Fanatical or one of these places, I think. That's what got me looking at it. Or maybe it was via a recommendation on Steam. Somehow I saw it ;)

Just played through Democratic Socialism Simulator.

It takes a somewhat simplistic approach, giving you random scenarios and you swipe left or right depending on how you want to approach them. Your choice influences how much money you have, the power held by the working class, your environmental impact, and your support levels in the general public.

While it's pretty simplistic, I found it really rather enjoyable. Gameplay loop remained interesting enough to finish a run, and the art is great. The game also takes quite a measured approach to the political side of things, meaning that you need to be rather pragmatic about your choices. On Toma's scale I'd give it a 4.5/5.

I first heard about it from this thread and bought it on itch last year. I definitely enjoyed what I played at the time, but I was having some frame rate issues, so I put it down and was going to wait until it left early access. I should probably give it another shot to see how it's running now.

Wait, have they added even more?

Can we up our donation? I legit feel bad for just paying the $5. I wasn't planning on playing much, maybe looking at some of the lesser known indies but so much has been added and some games I've been legit interested in buying but had put off as "don't buy more games, you've got enough you don't play".

This is an amazing bundle for a fantastic cause and I want to give more. Already got my friends to give it a look.
Just buy it again to give them more money? I know you're doubling up on the licences but that may be the eaiset way. Or buy another one as a gift for someone and pay more for it?

There was a script to redeem games, but it places a heavy load on the itch.io servers, and they asked people not to use it or share it. There will likely be a way to redeem everything at once after the sale ends.
OK, totally fair enough and I'll wait and see if they add in some functionality at some point. I don't want to download all the games but I did want to add them to the library... I wanted to use the PC app to handle the downloads for the games I want but with the bundle you have to download them direct.

I need a second life running in parralell to be able to even get close to dipping a toe into this bundle.

You can use the itch.io app to download, install, update, and run games. You have to click "download" on the website first to add them to your library, but then you can use the app to manage them. After the bundle ends, I expect there to be a tool to let you claim all games in the bundle into your library, rather than individually adding them.

Another amazing take on the Zelda games that takes Majoras Masks time limit to the next level. You have exactly 1 minute to save the world... until the world starts again and you have another minute with the items and knowledge you gained before. Incredibly smart game world design, cool ideas, a breeze to play and the only downside I could see before was a relatively short playtime for a relatively high price, but this game is unique and absolutely worth the money and minutes you spend on it. Worth it alone to marvel at the design ideas they used to realize the concept. 5/5

Alright, hold your breath for the next sentence. This is a procedurally generated CRPG Pizza Simulator roguelike adventure horror game with plenty mechanics and 6 different endings to explore. You may now breathe again. The dev tried something pretty unique and interesting here, which largely... and much to my surprise, actually worked out. This is a game I really need to play more of to get any decent impression, but I implore everyone to check this out, because this is probably one of the best and most original RPG maker takes I've come across in a long time. Might fall down if I play more, but for now as a first impression.. a surprised 3,5/5

Mix of some virtual environments and a walking simulator exploring some of those areas. Very pretty and contemplative experience, but also relatively shallow. Most other "walking simulators" still work towards a grander idea/theme/idea/mood and here it just seems like some really cool scenes stitched together. Still worth looking into if you enjoy others peoples virtual environments though. 2/5

So I tried Beacon after seeing people talking about it, seems really well done and it is pretty fun. Died on my run, put some DNA in to my genome and one mutated. Next run starts up and I have an alien head. Game's pretty cool.

That's the trouble though. I click download and it starts the download. Once the download is complete the app doesn't see/recognise that the game is downloaded. I pointed the app at the game files to scan but it could t find them. I re-dpwwnloaded a game using the app and it had an extra ". itch" folder with a receipt json file in it.

At the moment I have to click download, then cancel the download, then wait for the game to appear in my official libabry, then download it via the app.

It's really no biggie though, and I may well be doing something wrong.

It's an amazing gesture and package!

You're just hitting the download button on the bundle page, and not picking a specific file to download, right? It shouldn't stat automatically downloading, because it doesn't know what file you want at this point.

... How did you make it past K in the end, because mine won't either lol. Considering I've been trying to play through all the Android supported titles this would be very helpful lol.

That's been on my wishlist. I'll definitely be trying it out soon.
Sounds great! If you play it and enjoy it (or, you know, play it and dislike it), please leave a rating or comment on their support page.

The game kind of fell to the wayside after it was released, but I know they're still continuing to incrementally work on the full extended version and have been searching for some motivation to do so.
