Is NISA in charge of the switch port as well or is that version made by Falcom and they are just localizing it?
If it's the former...oh boy lol

For me, it's more about that I hope that they might fix every fault, I mean they only had 7 months extra to do it. It's that on top of the issues that exist, full price so long after is a kick to the nuts. I've bought it now to show support in hopes that they will fix it, but who knows. Also yeah uh...you should probably be a bit more concerned over the port itself than the Vita costumes lol, especially when enjoying one relies so much on the other even working well to begin with. To each their own though, though I feel like if they were going to show up they'd already be available considering the DLC already present. But hey, they could probably still have plans for it.
Somehow, I actually thought about it but disregarded it for Falcom being a kinda small dev. Turns out NISA is behind it. Mild shock!I'm also hearing the PC port is locked to 8-way movement
what the hell
Looking for a fight? I can handle you tough guy.Wait... you are upset over shitty bonus costumes? I'd be more upset over a garbage port over something that doesn't mean anything
They "fixed" the localization recently. It's better, not great by any means, but it's alright. How is the game on PS4? What's the localization like? Falcom most be absolutely furious that NISA ruined their streak of well-received PC games.
I mean, that's still supporting NISA, just on another platform...unless you mean import Falcom's original PS4 release, which is a great idea. They deserve support for making such a great game, whereas NISA needs to feel the consequences of screwing up with both localizations and broken promises to the game's audience. I'm also hesitant about recommending the Switch version since, performance aside, I have no desire to give NISA any incentive to pursue more Falcom games if this indicates how they'll get treated. (NISA also has a shoddy track record with consistently fixing these issues for later releases.)Mostly Negative reviews now. What a shitshow this game's had to go through. Just get it on PS4 and save yourself the trouble. Don't support NISA's crap.
The localization is fine now. Not amazing or anything but it's decent and you will never notice it in a bad way while playingHow is the game on PS4? What's the localization like? Falcom most be absolutely furious that NISA ruined their streak of well-received PC games.
I seem to recall the Xbox One controller issue occuring in a few other Japanese titles (I want to say Koei Tecmo games).
They say good things come to those who wait, but perhaps the release of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana could have gone back into the oven a little bit longer. The six-month-delayed PC port (first to completely re-translate the game, then to deal with a rising tide of technical issues) has finally made it to launch, though after looking at the first wave of public response, it doesn't sound like publisher NIS America have done Falcom's latest action-RPG much justice.
While I've sadly not been able to get my hands on a PC review copy of the game (and with every word written here, I am less likely to ever see one), but reports so far from some folks I trust report that the game is in a pretty grim state, with threadbare visual options and internal resolution locked, meaning that no matter how high or low your settings, it's just up-or-downscaling the same image either way.
It's all a bit sad, really. The Ys series has been consistently good fun for a great many years, and the previous few PC releases (handled by XSeed, as opposed to NIS America in this case) have been very polished, for the most part. It's a game that I still hope to play sometime in the next few months, although unless more fixes are forthcoming, it'll be on another platform.
Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana is available for £45/$60 via GOG and Steam, although the console versions might be a safer bet at this point.
We don't know yet. They haven't shown enough footage of the Switch version. So uh, does this mean I should skip the Switch release? This game looked really cool too.
Even if you accept that it's a $60 game (it's not), there's no way this is a $60 port.
We've put up a tutorial on how to temporarily fix one of the widest reported issues related to controllers and crashing on start.

It's getting the Tokyo Xanadu treatment, and deservedly so. Let it sink to the bottom where it belongs.

Just why.
Edit: And there's a bunch of them. Positive reviews that aren't actually positive, they're just trolling/panning the game.
60fps and silky smooth
In my opinion, it isn't constructive to suggest that this regrettable situation can be easily remedied by either purchasing the PS4 version and/or waiting for the Switch version. There are plenty of Falcom fans (including myself) who prefers to play Falcom games on PC and would not rather reward NISA in any way, even if they will eventually show a promise to give a decent post-launch support.
The time to give NISA the benefit of the doubt has since long past and any attempt to support any of their future releases should be approached cautiously since they haven't shown any slightest improvement in their project management. I would go so far as to say that they aren't going to change in the future unless there is a change in leadership or their company's culture.
But remember how happy you were that NISA got it and that the game was going to come out super fast! Quality doesn't matter it's all about quantity and speed!Sounds horrible. Glad I have the option to avoid this version and play a proper release. :"(

When it's working yeah
