Yesterday I finished Yakuza 0, my introduction to the series. And surely it won't be my last Yakuza game as it was absolutely amazing!
80s Japan is a great setting and the story features so many great characters with seemingly competent voice acting. I don't really care about japanese voices in general but it would feel weird to listen to different voice actors if they decide to dub other games. Another highlight is the game's humour. Yakuza 0 is legitimately one of the most hilarious games I've encountered. I had to shake my head a couple of times in disbelief how far they went but they constantly hit the right note IMO.
One thing I do regret however is that I spent too much time (too early) on minigames, specifically Real Estate + Carbaret Club. With all the money involved my characters were pretty much overpowered in the end and it did feel like a grind at times. I left the game idling to receive the payouts and to upgrade later properties in order to challenge the Media King. That's not the way it's supposed to play I guess and it did hamper my enjoyment a bit. I thought the game would be quite short but it took me over 80h to finish it, so I should have approached it differently.
