If there's no free XSX upgrade then you'll just get the bog standard XB1 version.as i understood, smart delivery is something like this ?
i asked this to @xbox, lets see what they will say
That's a massive jump over what XSX is purported to be. It'll be really exciting to see new hardware as well as massively improved baseline for game development this year.
Why announce that now when it can change? The soc is fixed already, though.
Yeah. I wouldn't be surprised if Sony ships a GPU-less PS5 out of shame.
Since they revealed everything else skipping RAM seems a bit weirdWhy announce that now when it can change? The soc is fixed already, though.
Since they revealed everything else skipping RAM seems a bit weird
The last 2 generations in a row (this one included), the RAM in one of the consoles has changed very late in the game.
Maybe Microsoft are holding off announcing the RAM in case they need to change it too.
Mesh shaders and a parity to Turing features would be huge for RDNA2.I'm wondering if the remaining two Turing features will make the cut for RDNA2: mesh shaders and sampler feedback. Both will be released in DX with Win10 2004 but it's a bit weird to not see them mentioned by MS so far, especially considering that both features are supposedly fairly straight forward to implement in h/w.
Indeed... I am sure they are thinking about playing with the amount of ram.Since they revealed everything else skipping RAM seems a bit weird
Man if that TechPowerUp Series X GPU listing is correct and it's 24GB GDDR6... It's prob 16 though.
cpu wise for sure. the 360 cpu cores had higher single threaded power than the xb1, its just the xb1 had 8, instead of 2.
Yes
With more RAM it actually might be $599.With Series X being the beast that it is with processing and GPU power, I don't see Microsoft shorting this console on RAM with just 16 GB.
If you go with the base Xbox One however it is a bigger leap. With more RAM it actually might be $599.
GPU wise not even close if you count X, but CPU & SSD is pretty damn big. faster streaming & better physics trumps more polygons anyway.
SSJ Goku - Series X

It's something that all fake leaked images usually have in common, off screen screenshots. With that being said, it's supposed to make the leak seem real to some, but I can't recall the last time I saw one of these come true.I'm not sure how this shows makes it fake or not fake, honestly.
Definitely a nice upgrade, and the minimum spec for PC games will definitely be increased dramatically. Still not basically a high end workstation equivalent like the other user suggested though. Nor does it need to be considering it's a gaming machine.
They really won't. The majority of 3rd party games will be cross-gen for the first 3-4 years and MS is releasing all of their first party games on the Xbox One as well, so you're still looking at fairly low minimum specs since games have to be made with the base Xbox One and PS4 in mind. PS5 exclusives are irrelevant for the time being since we don't know if they'll ever come to PC.

Phil has constantly said they'll be there on power and price...599 doesn't feel like that, esp. if Sony launches at 400-500.
If series x has no games then power is useless. Ps5 will strike the best balance between performance and price for the mass market imo.
Bold strategy launching a new console without any games. Let's see if it pays off for them.If series x has no games then power is useless. Ps5 will strike the best balance between performance and price for the mass market imo.
Probably trying to figure out a way to spin the power disparity.Even as a mainly PC gamer with a 2080 Ti, this is really exciting to hear how powerful it is. The Series X is a beast and I can't wait to see some next-gen games.
Makes you wonder why the hell Sony are just sitting back and twiddling their thumbs...they need to get the PS5 specs out there sooner rather than later.

Microsoft in shambles! A trillionaire company with no vision! The sky has fallen!Cancel the XSX. You heard it here first. It won't have any games!

Some people are ridiculous. Xbox has more studios than ever, and games won't be a problem anymore.300+ on GamePass, plus the games from 16 Xbox Studios, plus third parties.
Yeah, no games.
On pricing, according to this old post:
- Xbox 12TF (Anaconda): $499
- Xbox Streaming (Lockhart): $249
- PS5: $399

When planning a console they most definitely have a target price in mind. I'm assuming that's what these prices are.Could have been correct at the time, probably not anymore. Sony has said they haven't decided price yet, and it will depend on MS pricing.
If Sony doesn't communicate quickly they will lose some points in the market lead
