Crazy thing is insiders indicated Xbox started manufacturing way before PS5, so Xbox might have MORE stock and STILL be sold out within minutes on each site.

Got an S from MS store! Key is to be patient. If you gives you an error, click again. Would have rather done All Access but it wasn't loading at all.

Good luck trying to actually compelte your order.. I tried for an hour. And now apparently I keep getting access denied message to bestbuy.ca

I don't think this is true. It could be but Walmart changed their All Access from Sold Out to Coming Soon and there's zero people in this thread that actually successfully got an All Access console. It's more likely to me that All Access is just not working and they delayed it to fix the issues.
I would not say it was "way worse". PS5 reservations where a shitfest, as well.
Tried pre-ordering a Series X at my local Wal-Mart (right at 11am EST), they said they're not accepting pre-orders in that district. Which makes no sense, I live in Central NY and Covid cases are below 1%. They said they might do pre-orders in October and to try pre-ordering online (ha, yeah right) or GameStop. Well, they wasted 15 minutes of time waiting for an associate to come to the counter. So, I go over to my local GameStop and they sold out of Series X pre-orders and only had Series S left (no thanks).

Part of me thinks no consoles were allocated for All Access anywhere. I don't think anyone in here was successful with All Access on any site.
Apple only sells their products. Amazon/Best Buy/etc sell a bunch of products, and they probably (rightly) don't consider building up a bunch of extra capacity just to sell the occasional console pre-order every few years worth it.

At the very end of the MS Store and getting an "Unable to purchase at this time" and the error details say its something on their end - do I just keep trying or am I fucked?

Nah. The issue with the PS5 was orders going up way too early so people missed it. These issues are all related to sites not working.
Also, allocation for mobile phones is way higher than consoles. It's just a more mass market product. Apple's supply chain is also world beating.
