Was the better choice, especially for a live-service game (I guess it's faster to produce content than with super detailed graphics).

Surprised to see Fable so high on a lot of your lists. It's also my most anticipated game. I feel like it has the potential to be the best MGS game this gen based on how next gen tech could really bring the systems and gameplay Fable is founded on to new and interesting heights.

It's also because color and style is part of the studio's DNA at this point. I wouldn't expect the next Rare game after Everwild to be realistic looking either.

Fable II was one of my favourite 360 games. If they can reach those highs again, I'm going to be one happy Game Pass subscriber.

And yeah, I also hope they continue to evolve Fable's unique gameplay systems and let it continue to be its own thing. We'll have plenty of more traditional WRPGs coming from Bethesda, Obsidian and Inxile anyways.

Btw can Kinda funny be renamed to kinda out of touch or kinda sad?
I think Greg Miller was smart when he decided (I'm assuming this was his call) that if KF would talk more about Xbox, they'd need other people to do that. And it worked really great, because they found great people to talk about Xbox. Some older members have this "PS First" mindset, but I can imagine some things that vicious696 , Snowbike Mike and Gary say probably make PS fans upset too.
So I put the "bad takes" on individuals account, not on the channel itself.

Anyone know the conversion rate of console game pass to ultimate? I'm already subbed to ultimate, wondering how much I would get for 6 months of console.

Since everyone is doing the list thing, mines are:

1 - Psychonauts 2
2 - Halo Infinite
3 - Fable
4 - Age of Empires IV
5 - Everwild
6 - Perfect Dark
7 - State of Decay 3
8 - Avowed
9 - Project MARA
10 - Hellblade 2

Do Deathloop/Ghostwire Tokyo count? Because if they do, the list would be different. :P

I really enjoy the Kinda Funny XCast and think Parris, Mike etc are great, but Tim, Greg, and the KFGC crew are borderline insufferable. The literal definition of fanboys who can't for the life of them remain impartial.

I like the Xcast a well. But Gary is just as bad as a fan boy as Greg.

Nah man, Gary is nowhere near as bad. I've actually really enjoyed Blessing's takes recently. Though he clearly leans PS, he is nowhere near as clueless about the Xbox brand as Tim and Greg. It is crazy to see Tim's insistence on Gamepass meaning every MS game is going to be a AA experience so far. Somehow in his eyes Avowed, Fable, Wolfenstein, Perfect Dark and Elder Scrolss VI are all going to be small AA experiences that wouldn't merit Sony 1st parties' $70 price tag. Completely clueless.

There is only so much time for gamers, and offering 20 live services wouldn't be a prudent use of resources.

I agree with you lol that was a bad take by Tim. Gary said the Xbox series was going to out sell the PS5 and in 2 years there will be no reason to get PS5 because of GP. Thats a really bad take too.

Yep, I'm the same. If this game doesn't land on GP, I don't think many people will pick up the single player at all. It doesn't have any buzz and it didn't after the game showcase last July either.

I think it's pretty early days to assume it won't make a big splash. Let's wait till we see more before writing off it's worth and predicting it's failure.

Top 10 isn't strict enough. My Top 5:
  1. Avowed
  2. Fable
  3. Forza Motorsport
  4. As Dusk Falls
  5. Everwild
My take on Bethesda/Xbox
  • As Grubb has spoken to, Bethesda and Xbox showcases are probably going to be brought closer together
  • Starfield could be there

Small update based on latest things I've heard:
  • Omen should be announced at E3; targeting Spring 2022 release
  • As Grubb has spoken to, Bethesda and Xbox showcases are being brought closer together. I've heard that they might be one in the same now, with Bethesda having a dedicated segment inside the grander Xbox showcase
  • Starfield will be there. Sounds to be more focused on space exploration than being an epic sci-fi saga. Think more No Man's Sky and Outer Worlds than Mass Effect. Just my take based on the little info I was sent so could be a bit off base. We'll see soon.
Omen?

Yeah I don't even remember him saying that, but highly doubt both. If he would have said Xbox will eat some market share and by the end of the gen MS 1st will be looked at as equal if not better to Song 1st party, then I might be inclined to agree.

Hi. I usually don't write here and just lurk a bit but I don't know if this has been already discussed. I just launched a game via xcloud on pc and I noticed, when bringing the interface up, that it has the new Quick Resume tag on the interface. So I guess the new server blades are live now? At least for some games/users/pc xcloud? Maybe not on Android, I think it wasn't there last time I checked (and Minecraft Dungeons was definitely 30 fps there).

I haven't played (I just wanted to fulfill the weekly game pass quest lol), the game was West of the Dead.

Was this known? Is it known if they are XSX or XSS blades? I guess it could be tested with some games if we know the specs between both versions. The stream is supossedly 1080p so resolution won't do but some game that is only 60 fps on XSS and not on XSS, and also some other that is 60 fps on XSS but not on X1S.

Omen in the first half of 2022 would be great, can't wait to see what Arkane Austin has been working on after Prey (Vampire related right?) Always thought integrating the Bethesda show into the Xbox conference was the best approach, you want the two to be as closely associated in people's minds as possible. I'm also hoping Starfield has ship customisation and battles, something to make it stand out from TES and Fallout.
