I don't really have any nostalgia or affinity for Playstation's "mascots" or IP in general. Do I love a series like The Last of Us? Hell yeah. Would I buy an Ellie figurine in a store? I probably wouldn't look twice at it. It could be something to do with me, or it could be something to do with Sony not really approaching their brand the same way as say, Nintendo does.
I also think that it has a lot to do with when Playstation's "legacy content" is from. The PS1/N64 generation hasn't aged as gracefully as say, the NES and SNES generations, so maybe they think rather than dusting off something like Jak to do a new entry, their time and money is better spent on something new/more modern.
I guess what I'm saying is, it's hard to care about their legacy content when it doesn't seem like they do either.
