I'm convinced some of you guys are posting non-Pokemon characters.

Correct, as that is the only place Gamefreak likes to do popularity polls. Also, the only place they care about doing special events and unique advertisements.
I would guess in an America poll Charizard would be top 3 (probably number 1 tbh), Gardevoir would be waaaaaay higher. Arcanine, Lucario would be pretty high too but Greninja would probably not be top 10.

Lumineon, if I recall, was often the last needed to complete the seen Pokédex in whatever game it was in.

Looking through this so far I 100% forgot Seismetoad existed. And whatever that comet thing was? And the demon mushroom flower guy.

One of those "mid" evolution types, like a cocoon for a butterfly-like mon for example.
Like, you'll only be using that as a step to get to the evolution you want, it almost feels like cheating to have it as its own entry in the dex.

feel free to disregard my opinions though, as I've never played one of the real actual Pokemon games
even though I'm probably right, going by the chart above

Being in the top ten ain't bad, especially when the poll is already skewed with legendary pokemon having a big bias, as the winner would always be release as an event. As for you last point, I disagree as Greninja was being heavily promoted at the time with him getting in Smash, while also being Ash's signature pokemon in the Kalos region.

Any gen 5 pokemon. They're all so forgettable, the only exceptions from that generation are the ice cream pokemon and garbage pokemon. And people only remember them because their design is so bad. People don't even know their names tho lol

I disagree, Gen 5 was memorable for me in terms of designs, some are bad sure, to me Gen 6 had the worst.

And yes i played the series since Gen 1.

I don't know why people are posting things like Dunsparce and Bidoof.

They're iconic for how lame they are.

Any of those generic fish or bird pokemon they pump out each Gen.

off-topic: I would just like to say Blaziken is the best starter and pokemon ever made.

There likely is a pokemon that has gotten next to no representation outside of the main games but I'm not willing to shift through over 800 different ones to figure it out. Kadabra has had it really rough outside of the main games so maybe that one?

Feebas is well known if only because its capture requirements were whack.

It's really fucking sad that you have to repeat the same exact shit every time Pokemon comes up on this forum. It's like your own stupid copypasta.

I'm pretty this thread only works once we whittle down the list of all the Pokemon people are mentioning here, and maybe an opposing "most iconic" thread. The Pokemon left over are the true least iconic.

Mothim. There are way too many moth Pokémon and this one is the most ugliest and useless. It doesn't even have a secondary typing.

Budew. A baby Pokémon for Roselia? Just, why? Was even Roselia that popular during gen 3 to deserve both evolution and baby stage? Thank God that baby concept is dead and we're not getting any more of that nonsense.

Finneon is cute af, what are you guys on about

look at that little smile!
It goes back to him having a one percent chance of finding one with a good/super rod. He is also not that good in battling, so barely anyone went out of their way to catching it. But him being name called so much in these threads eliminates him from being the least popular pokemon.

The interesting thing about Spewpa is that it's on its second time being a summon in a Smash Bros game, so there's some inherent notability from that alone that puts it above stuff like Stantler and Mothim

Yeah, the cocoon types are ultimate lets move on fodder. Even in first gen, nobody cares. No humanization and zero facial expressions ain't helping.

Not a dig against the designs, but they are clearly not meant to be cared about.

Some people are posting pokemon that are just bad and unpopular.
I think in a way these can still be iconic as representations of shit pokemon.
like, everybody makes fun of bidoof. everyone knows bidoof.
I think to truly satisfy the least iconic requirement you have to discover the most basic pokemon of all time that literally nobody has strong feelings about that most dont even remember exist.
Show me the monster that if it was deleted from the games I wouldnt even notice

250px-756Shiinotic.png

I forgot this Pokemon existed until I saw its pre-evolution in the Detective Pikachu trailer

It's Shiinotic, a Pokemon whose name I had to look up because I literally could not remember it. It's also terrifying looking.

I think these are good entries because I don't remember ever even seeing them before in my life even though it probably happened at some point
I remember their other evolutions fine
but not these forms
not even a little
