Sounds like someone at Black Library really fucked up and threw the whole company under a bus with that move after the recent good will. Apparently an 'investor' had complained, and BL had falsely accused him of being the source of a leak too. Hopefully something will be done.
Already OOS on GW, and most third parties are only selling for full price in store. GW got that FOMO thing nailed down.
Thanks for the reply! I ended up deciding to get Dawn of War 2 grand master collection and the mechanicus game. I'll get the fire warrior game when it's on sale - I never heard of the game! Thanks for the heads up. I may get Gladius when it's the next holiday sale.
And man, that total war warhammer is addicting, lol. Too bad I didn't realize until after the sale that in order to play dwarves, I needed the first game as well. Oh well.
Local independent games store in Australia (Mind Games) let me know that a 2nd run is very unlikely to be happening.

My Local Manager told me that there will be another box as starter set.
This is just a launch box for existing players, there will be a "real" one with fewer minis, dice etc.
Looking at the sprues on the store page its easy to see what minis will go on sale seperatly

Yeah, that seems reasonable for Christmas, as this one doesn't have dice or much info on painting the kits in it. Seems very much a celebratory one-off for existing players who care more about 'day 1, 9th edition' than a box set to sell to new hobbyists for the next few years. Shame on the limited numbers here though as it's really good value for all-new sculpts and mostly new units.

Should be 10 PST/12 CST. I called my FLGS and asked if they were taking preorders yesterday after work. They said they were starting Saturday but the lady let me go ahead and do it yesterday. Only ordered one and have every intention of using it. Think I'm gonna focus on some terrain painting these next weeks so the wife and I can play that weekend.

box parted out might net a reseller 600 usd in sales.
IMHO, its resellers gobbling mostly EVERYTHING up.
theres programs now that allow resellers to bypass the limits.
The game is getting bigger and bigger. It's almost kind of weird.

We finally managed to get all the boxes we wanted, between our FLGS and the fucking Big Hobby Chain Store, but only two in English while we wanted 6 non-translated. Still, in Spain there were no boxes left anywhere one hour after they dropped. It's madness.

Wow officially sold out now. I did see a rumor that they're doing an August reprint, we'll see. GW really fucked up if they don't do something about this, they should have limited it to 2 purchases per address and made way more copies available.
they really need to do a timed quantity roll out, X available every 10 minutes as a way to curb resellers/bots that gobble up the stock in a second.
As a massive fan of the lore but have never touched or painted any of the miniatures that box looks awesome. I would buy a statue or figurine of a Custodes in a heartbeat though.

Christ I'm glad I jumped on a FLGS the moment they put their small allotment up this morning and didn't wait to order from GW.
If retailers were doing this I guarantee GW would be taking action. They need to go after scalpers. Best way is just simply to produce so many scalpers can't compete with wholesale.
