Bloodborne is the worst Souls game. I would say it's the most overrated game this gen, hands down.
Breath of the Wild is just okay, not great.
Lately I'm not sure if I really even care about single player games anymore.

I think TLoU is a garbage game, but other then that I don't really have any gaming sins I think.

The number one reason I don't like Monster Hunter is because there's no lock on, and it feels like it's making artificially difficult.

World has optional lock on. It sucks because the game is meant to be played differently but if you try it you'll find out there was nothing artificial about targeting a specific part of the monster. :)

On topic: I never played Zelda when I was a kid and my first one was Phantom Hourglass which I really like.

I really only care about gameplay and mechanics, I pretty much skip every cutscene. Even though I love MGS I couldn't tell you anything about the story of the franchise, or any other game series I like. The only way I will pay attention is BioWare or Bethesda, and Telltale and David Cage games, and that's only because dialogue in the former and cutscenes as actions in the latter are game mechanics.

I really like Call of Duty (in spite of numerous critical flaws with every game) and purchase the new games day of release, every year.

I actually really enjoyed Bullet Witch. And I think I've played Mafia III more than anything else this gen.

I dont like any of the Souls games and Bloodborne. I've tried (Read: put in 10 to 20 hours) all of them and have even beaten Demons Souls and Dark Souls.

I get fooled every time too, I always think, "Hey, maybe this is the time it clicks for me," and it never does. I can guarantee I'll play Sekiro and probably dislike it too.

You should really play kingdom hearts, it's good. I also have an identical confession for the last of us. In fact Zombie games do not do anything for me. The only zombie game I've ever enjoyed is Resident Evil 3.
To be honest, I have no interest in the game. Not my style at all...

It's funny, because the Last of Us is the perfect game for me on paper. I have no idea why I keep losing interest or focus and just do not return to it...

  • I really, REALLY want a follow up to Metroid Other M. I love that game.
  • Final Fantasy IX is only great because of that card game. The cast really sucks as does the rest of that dumb game.
  • Dark Chronicle and Dark Cloud are stupid games for stupid people
  • Talk about stupid: I needed help from a friend to get me through the tutorial of Gears of War because I suck at these kind of games

I recently sold my copy of Yakuza Kiwami 2 because I needed the money and wasn't playing it, so I figured I'd buy it back sometime when I had more income.

i still have to finish mgs5 and i'm a huge fan of the saga.

i'm halfway in xenoblade 2 but the combat system and the map\field skill system really aren't my cup of coffee.

i never played episode 1 and 2 of hl2.

i mostly use a gamepad on pc even with non-competitive fps\tps, i hate the movement with WASD.

P.S. guys this is the confessional topic not the controversial opinions one.

My favorite Final Fantasy is FF8 and FF9 honestly did nothing for me.

I enjoy the newer Bokumono/Story of Seasons games far more than the older Harvest Moons.

I absolutely love Bioware games, including DA2.

I don't like A Link to the Past. In fact, I don't like 2D Zelda and avoid them. The 3D games are Zelda to me.

I think Zant (Twilight Princess) is the best Zelda villain.

Pokemon Gold and Silver are some of the weakest Pokemon games to me.

I think big narrative/character driven games like Last of Us and God of War are boring.

I like what Fire Emblem X Shin Megami Tensei ended up becoming more than what most expected (a straight crossover between SMT and FE characters.)

I played a few Senran Kagura games and enjoyed them.

I dedicate a lot of time to play through the old classics that I've missed (and that's most of them since I grew up in Eastern Europe where purchasing consoles and games was a luxury until the last generation). Not because I particularly fancy them or anything, just a nagging feeling that I have to be familiar with those works if gaming is indeed my hobby since seemingly everyone around has played them.

Most of them fall somewhere between "it's more or less tolerable I guess" and "Christ almighty, please be over already, I beg of you" for me. Yet I'll never voice these opinions to my friends in the gaming enthusiast circles since I don't want my taste to be labeled as "bad".

So yeah, I jump through the hoops of retro gaming due to peer pressure and pretend to like games I don't think much of to fit in at times.

I used to use cheats a lot, whether built into the game, via GameShark, or via the Cheats menu in Civilization II.

I contacted Nintendo support once to ask for cheats for A Bug's Life for Game Boy, because I wasn't coming up with much from my Alta Vista searches.

I'm much better at games than I used to be, but I'm still crap at shooters, and tend to set them on easy.

I loved Uncharted 4 because I'm pretty good at walking simulators.

I see you this and raise you with I've never played a single entry in the series unless you count kingdom hearts.

*GASP*! I can't remember if I tried Kingdom Hearts or not, but I know if I did I didn't play much. I kept wanting to give FF a chance, but it just never clicked.

One of us! One of us! Just something about them doesn't.. appeal? To me, I guess? Not sure.

I have nearly 400 games on Steam and have only touched/played about 60 of them.

I have never played Fortnite and have absolutely no desire to go anywhere near it.

I never beat FFVII

Batman Arkham Knight is the greatest superhero game of all time (Arkham Asylum is God tier in its own way for different reasons, but I personally prefer Knight)

I beat the water temple in Ocarina of Time without the blue tunic because I didn't know a blue tunic existed until after I beat the temple.

I traded in a physical copy of MvC2 for PS2 to GameStop because I didn't play it anymore. Little did I know that it was rare as fuck and actually worth some money.

Nier Automata bored me so much to the point where I had to drop the game

And to comment on a couple things from this thread:

Enter the Matrix was actually a really enjoyable game as shitty as it was (same with Path of Neo). The fact that they shot scenes specifically for the game using the actual actors in full costume was just a cherry on this sweet pie.

Pokemon, as repetitive as it is, is STILL fun as fuck. Yall crazy.

Zelda 2: Adventures of Link is my favorite Zelda game (Still need to play BOTW though)

I racked up over 900 game overs before finishing Cuphead.

Any time I want to replay Resident Evil 4 I end up playing The Evil Within instead.

Vice City and RDR2 are the only Rockstar games I've finished.

Tetris Effect is my 2018 GOTY

I love playing fallout 76 and I believe it's a good direction for the franchise.

I play every pc game with a controller.

WiiU is my favorite console followed by the PSVita.

Oh, I've just rembered some that are going to REALLY ruffle some feathers:
  1. Paper Mario Sticker Star is the first and only Paper Mario game I've played.
  2. I like Paper Mario SS.
  3. I like the game's battle system.
  4. I've bought the game TWICE, once at full price, another at the Nintendo Selects price.
  5. I used guides to figure out the Thing Sticker puzzles.
  6. I've never beaten the Final Boss (because it's genuinely awful, and, admittedly encapsulates everything wrong with the game).
That said, I understand everyone's qualms with the game.

Only Resident Evil game I played was 4 when the HD release came out on PS3. Played for about an hour and stopped because I didn't like it played.

I think that review scores for games are perfectly fine as an expression of someone's feeling towards that game, and the embarrassment should be on players (including ResetEra) for taking those scores too seriously as some objective truth to argue for or against.

Edit: That's more a controversial opinion than a sin, so here's another: the first few times I played through Dragon Age Origins, DA2, and Baldur's Gate 2 I didn't customize the AI tactics at all. Now it's one of my favorite things about those games.
