Isn't Arizona a purple state? Why would the Arizona GOP want some nutbag representing them when it can easily blow up in their face?
What else do you think that they have to offer? They have for decades based their appeal to voters on idiot fascism. That kind of thing filters into a party. It becomes who they are. You don't get many moderates in the Evil Fascist Party.
Cheney clearly has eyes on the presidency. It's pretty obvious. Betting on anti-Trump and anti-Biden sentiment to propel her. (To be absolutely clear, I don't want this… at all)
She's pretty clearly the most well known candidate that might try to occupy a hypothetical anti-Trump lane in the Republican primaries. I think anyone fighting in that lane is kind of doomed though, but maybe she's more optimistic about that.
