The Wii has so so so so so so many hidden gems, it's not even funny.

The Munchables - It's sort of like a Pacman platformer. You run around eating bad guys. You start out small and you can only eat enemies your size or smaller. But the more you eat, the bigger you get. Again, it's a platformer of sorts and not a puzzle game.

Excitebots - It's just an insane kart racer. I don't even know how to describe it. Watch some videos to get an idea.

Punch Out!! - Not hidden per say, but people forget about it because it's on the Wii. It's an excellent sequel.

Go Vacation - Open world ski/snow sports game. It's kinda like Wii Sports Resort but focused on snow. This is also out on Switch in HD now. It's surprisingly beautiful game.

First of all, Elebits was indeed awesome, until the end-game where the objectives switched from "break a bunch of shit" to "break nothing, and do so very quietly". I assume that was near the end-game anyway, I quit real fast when that happened.

But yeah, my entry, that I haven't seen in thread yet: Dawn of Discovery

I got this game for free, and turned it on probably 2 years later out of morbid curiosity. What I found was the most delightful, "bite-sized" strategy game I've ever had the joy of playing.

This game is actually part of the ANNO series, significantly console-ized, and better for it. If I had to reach for a comparison, Dawn of Discovery is to typical civ-management games as Super Smash Brothers is to typical fighting games. It's a much smoother, breezier experience while still very much standing up on its own merits.

Really a shame that Ubi didn't continue this particular branch of the series--I was utterly hooked.

I'll mention two Japanese exclusives that are really fun. Zangeki no Reginleiv is just an absolutely ridiculous game that I wouldn't call "good" but it's so fun to actually play. And Captain Rainbow is so insane that I can't help but recommend it especially if you're a Nintendo fan.

Red Steal 2 was an amazing FPS on the Wii, Waaaay better than then the first game and the art style is super nice, still looks good to this day.

Another game that was great was Battle arena toshinden for the wii, it was a reimagining of the game made by TOMY the guys who made the game cube Naruto (and some of the wii ones). It was a fun arena fighter.

The Munchables was a great game as well for the wii.

Silent Hill was great on the system

Muramasa was an amazing 2d hack in slash that got a port to the Vita but back when it came out on the wii it was pretty fantastic as well.

Honestly the wii has waaaay too many amazing games. Sakura Wars V, Fragile dreams etc...

I'm loving the sound of that Dawn of Discovery. I wonder if it came to the UK. Thanks!

[edit] Turns out they named it 'Anno: Create a New World' over here. Ugh what a bad title.

Man, missed that thread first, but now thanks to the people who bump it, I'll need to start finding Wii games :(

Just when I'm almost done with searching and buying underrated GBA and DS game... my poor wallet :(

At least it seem I already have most of the most expensive one...

Read the tittle and came in to say Elebits 😊 I'm not alone! 😅 Such a unique experience and one of the best uses of the Wiimote.
