Twitch has removed the PogChamp emote (Update: Permanent replacement now chosen)

I'm not familiar with the context of whoever that is, but its such a big part of Twitch that it is still surprising.
Isn't that a bit different since its other people misusing it and not Trihex? Or has Trihex shown his ass, too?

Sometimes they go too far with the "simp" and "virgin" stuff, but this is the right call. GG Twitch.
Can someone give context? I know what the emote is, but that's it. Safe to assume someone deep ended in the wrong direction?
I'm guessing most of its variants will likely live on through BetterTTV. The downside of this is I think having it was a good fuck you to him since Gootecks hated the emote, but I imagine at this point it's hard to back it anymore in good conscience.
Kind of a shame not only because PogChamp was such an important part of Twitch culture but also because Gootecks hated that the Pog was his legacy so it also worked as an extra metaphorical middle finger that he would just be known as funny emote man but the decision is completely understandable
The guy the emote is based on is a MAGA dipshit who today was describing the killed rioter as a martyr and called her death an execution. He also implied there should be riots over her death.
Considering the PogChamp name has no affiliation with that dumbass itself, it should be easy to bring it back with the same name and meaning, just a different face or artwork.
Good decision overall. Let that pathetic moron fade away in irrelevancy. PogChamp was the only noteworthy thing about him, and even if he hated it he still profited and benefited from it. Taking that away is for the best.

Gootechs is Asian, which is weird considering the MAGA idiots he is standing with and defending don't like Asians.
The way I see it trihard is significantly more problematic because it is consistently used as a racist foghorn against black people.

The person whose face is used for PogChamp, Gootecks, is a MAGA idiot making stupid fucking claims for years now. Today he posted to garbage stuff about the Capitol and the person who died being a martyr.
Apparently, he absolutely hates that he's an emote for many. But I think removing it so he's forgotten is a better course.
