Steam. And controllers.
My two 360 controllers (one wired, one wireless) are the proper 'use these on PC' controllers, they are not by any means the real deal Xbox 360 controllers.
I love them, but they are starting to age and the rubber comes off on my fingers and makes the controller face all grubby and dirty.
So, these days, how easy is it to make GAMES on Steam - not Steam itself - recongnise the fact I have started using a PS4 controller instead?
I'm talking about mods or in-game options that change button prompts (eg MGSV, Batman Arkham Knight, Tomb Raider etc - all recent games design with either current gen console in mind) to that of a PS4 controller.
Or should I just bite the bullet and get an Xbone controller? Do they make 'PC-only' controllers based on the latest Xbox One controller design?
Bonus: What am I going to have to do if I want to use a Switch controller or Wii U Pro Controller natively in some of these games?
As I said, I know Steam/Big Picture lets you customise to your heart's content. I just don't want to mod games for use with my PS4 controller and then have them ban me (eg MGSV, Friday the 13th, Rocket League, games with constant or regular online use).
I will sing at the wedding of whoever can answer and help me out here.
