Found out it's nerfed in mm2 for the game boy or at least it didn't work against airman or maybe it always bounced off the tornadoes I forget

It actually bounces off a lot of shit in normal MM2. GB MM2 it's also slower (because the GB) and has fewer shots per bar. It's VERY nerfed there.

Since I didn't contribute much behind shooting down the OP's thread: The best Mega Man weapon is Mega Man 11's Pile Driver.

It's a utility weapon that gives Mega Man a really good air dash that both seems like it has some sort of I-Frame bullshit on it, that also works consistently as a damage tool. None of that Charge Kick or Top Spin bullshit where the rules are poorly defined on what you can and can't hit with it. You slam into an enemy with Pile Driver, either it dies or it takes damage and Mega Man harmlessly falls to the ground. If you throw Power Gear on it, it only goes faster and WAY further to an almost ridiculous degree and yet despite all this, it's still well balanced among the rest of his kit!

Time stamp to Wily 3 (26:19)

Edit: Don't know why the Time Stamp isn't working correctly. Either which way.

Every time I play MM2 I get the metal blade first. I should really try to not use it but it's too damn fun to use.

further proof that mega man 2 is overrated

mega man 3 all the way baby
Not to say MM3 isn't good fun, but it felt so unpolished and messy compared to MM2, not to mention the music isn't even half as good as in 1 or 2. I personally never understood the love for 3.

Hornet Chaser is the shit my friends
A wee bee homing attack, and it returns items directly to you?! Based

Gawd the MM9 weapon set is so good, been playing a ton of mm/mmx this year and still nothing quite matches the MM9 options, they all work well without being individually OP

Disagree. The slide adds a new level of platforming, and the levels and bosses are extremely enjoyable, with the only real drawback being the Doc Robots to pad the length. Many of the songs, also are among my faves in the series, with the opening theme, stage select, weapon acquisition, Snake Man, Shadow Man, and Spark Man being personal faves.

What makes Metal Blade absurd is how cheap it is to use, for how much utility and damage it has, you'd imagine you'd get something like 16-20 uses out of it before the energy runs out. Think Rolling Cutter which gets 28 uses in comparison.

Metal Blade gives you 112 uses before you run out of ammo for it, that's absurd.

Storm Tornado from Maverick Hunter X deletes entire stages.

At least from what I remember.

It's true. It's very easy. It's the FF7 of Mega Man games. It's not the best one, but it was many's first or first one the were able to beat so it holds more weight than the other games.

MM2 is extremely poorly designed when it comes to weapons in the endgame, with those two bosses that can only be damaged with one specific weapon, and if you used them *at all* earlier, you're put in a no-win scenario where you just have to burn all your lives, continue, and redo the whole stage.
You just swap to it when refill items drop. Never had this issue.

There's nothing more satisfying than jumping across pits and taking out enemies flying above with the magnet weapon.

I usually don't even use boss weapons during stages. I guess you can really optimise your route if you do, but I'm not interested besides some situations where it's the only way to not take damage.
