The floor-to-ceiling display featuring Newell's face was spotted at the end of a Valve office tour and a photo was posted on Reddit. In the same Reddit thread, a Valve employee has confirmed that the studio has not one, but two of these displays and that "they are both huge."

Neither Valve nor Steam are perfect; the list of issues worth discussing is not a small one. I can and have written a chapter on how I feel about the release process, for instance. But this isn't the thread for it, because this thread is about some dumb, fun factoid that shouldn't be causing any drama whatsoever.

I still miss the rotating daily deals and flash deals on the summer/winter sales. Yes, you could miss deals.. but the sale was an event before. Its just boring now.

IIRC it's a screen anyone can put anything up, I've seen it play plenty of game trailers before on other visits.

Im talking about fun, not money. And artistic integrity of finishing a story. I guess they dont have to care, but me as a consumer am disappointed.

I mean sure I understand that. Impressive how a lot of other companies are perfectly capable of making a profit with single player games though.

Heck some are even capable of finishing a story they've started. Mad impressive.

That's a straw man. No one said you can't make a profit with single player games. They said they're making _more_ off multiplayer games. More people are playing Valve games for longer than they ever did pre-multiplayer era.
