Yea that was an apparent omission. No mention of female Hrothgar at all. :( I figured we wouldn't get them until 7.0, but I was just hoping for some sort of update regarding them.
Yea that kinda kills that notion parts of the community had, it kinda kills it dead a tad
I guess I misheard. I assumed it was Japanese only since Aimi is leaving.
Nothing too groundbreaking but that was a good collection of updates. The graphics stuff exceeded my expectations even with the early tests.
They will have to eventually address the fact that you'll need to play 5 games just to get to current content (without paying more) but guess that'll be further out. Making more stuff soloable probably pushes that out a bit further.

honestly it's only a problem if you consider it a problem. Most other competitors design these type of games with this kind of thing in mind where you just buy the latest thing and play that but they seem perfectly find with letting everyone just go through the content. They don't care to onboard people into season 5 of a story where you are given access to seasons 1-4.
Not expecting an Xbox client for a long long time unfortunately. No Xbox client still.
PS5 client a lame duck because why put the work in when it's all being thrown away for 7.0 engine revamp anyway most likely.

Hopefully, these graphics updates are just the first in a series of updates over multiple expansions going forward.
The examples given looked like a PS4 remaster of a PS3 game. Which is good for now but not something that will carry the game all the way to the year 2032.

That'll never happen. Sony would scoop Square Enix up in a heartbeat if MS even put in a offer for them.At this point, I think the only way Final Fantasy XIV comes to Xbox is if Microsoft buys Square Enix.
If any system has issues, it'll be ones w/ integrated graphics, especially on laptops. They were very clear that this was the first graphical update but also that they don't intend for this to be a showstopper graphical powerhouse of the game. They want it to be accessible for people on all specs of machines
MMO's want less overhead to ensure the most amount of people can play it, this is why most MMO graphics look somewhat dated and always rely heavily on art style.Hopefully, these graphics updates are just the first in a series of updates over multiple expansions going forward.

Doesn't Sony own a bunch of Square Enix stock? But you may be right.2 EW ultimates was the highlight. So happy with that news.
If MS wants SE there's nothing Sony can do to stop them. Sony can't compete with MS in a bidding war.

I had issues as well with a 1060 and a QHD monitor. Before I bought my laptop with a 3060, I bought a desktop w/a 2060 and had no issues with my monitor now. Also depends on monitor resolution. My BFs 1060Ti does not like playing FFXIV on his ultrawide, he doesn't get a steady 60fps
They did? ouch, probably not a good idea nowadays.

Wait, are we expecting 7.0 soon? I figured it was still two years out.
No, it's still about two years away.Wait, are we expecting 7.0 soon? I figured it was still two years out.
not for a long time. Around 2 years.Wait, are we expecting 7.0 soon? I figured it was still two years out.
Trusts for all the dungeons and four-person raids between now and 7.0. This makes me very happy. Not just because I'll prefer the game that way, but because I need three hands to count all the friends I know who won't play until and unless this happens.
It's still two years out.
Okay cool, that's what I thought!
