Well said. I'm sure everyone here feels for the TellTale employees, and I certainly wish them all the best. However, I do consider this a very important issue. As we push further towards the seemingly inevitable all-digital future, we need to know that these companies are prepared for such outcomes, especially in an industry where a single failure can sink a dev studio.
I'm not really worried about my $20. I'm worried about how Sony, MS, etc. will respond to such situations in the future. What if I have pre-ordered a $99 deluxe edition for a game on PSN, and the studio goes under before it's release? I should surely expect a refund in such a scenario, right? One would hope, but this is definitely a matter of some concern. If any specific company here doesn't choose to offer refunds in this situation, I know I'll be incredibly wary about pre-ordering things in the future from them.
