I hope SE fires Nomura after KH3 after ruining versus13/15. Tabata is truly a great man and it's a shame to see him leaving the FF title
FFXV is the second-highest selling game in the franchise. The franchise is fine.

Ok I'm gonna be second hand pissed if tabata got flak for FFXV internally but Nomura didn't. Tabata actually delivered a working game. Tabata was robbed.
My guess is that he just got burned out on working on the game. Wasn't he stretched thin during development of XV?WTF. The Kotaku post-mortem on this shit show will be a fascinating read.
It's a fucking terrible look that the two episodes that would have presumably had female leads were cancelled.
Damn. Respected the guy for pulling off FFXV but if I'm honest I did not want him directing the next mainline FF. Good luck out there.
At this point with this and the FFXV PC support ending, i would not be surprised if all those Switch Final Fantasy ports get canned too. Something really bad went down behind the scenes that's for sure.
You are wrong, there are always fans that have a favourite and will shit on others but it doesn't mean the series is failing or going downhill. The series is fine and will continue to do well in the future.Sales wise sure can't decide yet but I mean by damged is it's quality, again the sales doesn't mean everyone loves it, there are many many FF fans who were not ok with this game and feel betrayed, it's been going downhill since the release of XIII, if they continue like this next game will get even worse scores, not to mention the absolutely disgusting dlcs practice that they have been doing with this game, I still can't believe many are ok with it.
I like some tabata games but this wasn't a good example of his work, crisis core where he actually shined.
Huh? I never blamed S-E since we have no idea whether he was fired or he resigned, since we'll likely never know, I was just agreeing that this was crazy news and then pretty much agreed with what you are saying when I pointed out that S-E just gave Tabata a huge position so either S-E wouldn't have done this without reason or Tabata resigned. And you missed my edit where I also mentioned how crazy it is if it was indeed Tabata that chose to leave this soon after being given such a huge position. Either way, definitely crazy news.... how this is the fault of SE if Tabata resigned from the company? It would be a thing it they fired him but that wasn't what happened.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

(sorry to all FFXV fans out there)

Wouldn't shock me.Betting there is no new IP from Luminous Productions. They're gonna make a Final Fantasy.
Timeline and this development just makes sense. They literally set up a new company this year. They announced all these plans about completing Final Fantasy XV DLC and then finally moving on to their new IP. Tabata mentioned in some of his interviews that he was keen on developing his own IP and didn't seem like he was keen on making another Final Fantasy game. I believe he even mentions FFXVI in one interview and says someone else will be making it.
Now suddenly they've done a huge about turn. They've cancelled the DLC and are changing direction entirely. Their reason being that they want to divert all resource to their new project in order to get it out even a day sooner. Now it's unlikely the DLC was costing $33 million so they obviously cancelled whatever other stuff they were doing too. That would explain that loss.
I'm betting LP is going to make Final Fantasy. No new IP or anything.
This seems pretty clear he was being fired and SE instead let him announce his departure guess things were going really rough. I'm surprised they pulled the plug this early though as his game wasnt even releasing until next gen
For the next game, i hope they make a story that they dont attempt to sell piecemeal cause the base game was pretty incomprehensible. And make a movie before the game comes out just as incomprehensible because they didnt know how to fit the plot threads together. If they take anything from FF15, i hope its that.
i'm sure porting the games to the switch is cheaper then 15's dlcAt this point with this and the FFXV PC support ending, i would not be surprised if all those Switch Final Fantasy ports get canned too. Something really bad went down behind the scenes that's for sure.
People are talking about losses, what losses? Did i miss something
Sounds about right. They want to refocus on FF7R and maybe XVI and his new IP got the axe as a result.Betting there is no new IP from Luminous Productions. They're gonna make a Final Fantasy.

Jeff Sessions "resigned" today too.
Resigning is often a political move. With the way this is being handled, he was forced to resign.
Grow up.AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

They need all the budget to make The Quiet Man 2. Tabata knew, so he sacrificed himself and resigned. The Quiet Man 2 is finally in development.
So somehow, in a stream dedicated to XV, XIV is the one that comes out winning?

How the hell did Nomura ruining anything ?
If anything it's SE that always putting to much on him while also fucking up with staff.
