These newer devices are never, ever entirely about power and power alone. The Switch is able to do a lot of things that the Wii U or PS360 can't because it also support new technology, new rendering pipeline and thus new engines. These feature sets are as important, if not more important than sheer teraflops. You can duct tape 10 Xbox 360s together but it still won't run Gears 4 or Forza Horizon 3 because it doesn't support anything those new games require.
I've got cold leftovers with more power than the Switch!Nintendo systems are innately incapable of doing huge open world games, after all.
why even bring it up4Chan apparently has "leaked" stuff about Smash switch. Keep your hype in check though, it's 4chan.
I'm a broken record at this point.

Wanna know why? Because you keep responding to me, encouraging me to do itWhy do you keep doing this? You know the rules. You come here to talk about new 4chan rumors without posting them thinking by doing that you've discovered some loophole that allows you to get away with it. Stop it already.
This is called trolling. 4chan shouldn't be considered.Wanna know why? Because you keep responding to me, encouraging me to do it

Isn't the main issue with gc vc the fact that a lot and some of the biggest games use pressure triggers, like sunshine? That would be like the first game they would add.inb4 he goes and rants on his twitter again wondering why he got banned even though he blatantly was told not to post what he posted. Can't believe this crap is happening again, urgh. You're a strong man Rey for putting up with all this.
That being said, with all the compilations heading out to switch lately (Sega AGES being the newest) do any of you guys fear the GCN VC rumor was bogus this whole time? I just can't imagine how Nintendo could really do a virtual console with so many of their parties offering compilations of ultra high quality instead. I guess it would be better for the smaller games like always but now I kinda want Nintendo to partner with Digital Eclipse to port all the 2D Zeldas and stuff instead of a traditional VC. M2 or Digital Eclipse should be put in charge of whatever retro service they decide to (eventually) start this september.
Honestly I thought it was bogus from the beginning. The Switch doesn't have analog triggers. That being said, with all the compilations heading out to switch lately (Sega AGES being the newest) do any of you guys fear the GCN VC rumor was bogus this whole time?
the switch also has 2 more triggers than the gamecube controller, just map slight pressure to 1 and hard pressure to another.Isn't the main issue with gc vc the fact that a lot and some of the biggest games use pressure triggers, like sunshine? That would be like the first game they would add.

The fact that the most popular ones do is kind of a big issue though. Nintendo won't make gc vc if they can't put the major games on it.Barely any of the games for the thing do, it just so happens the most popular games are part of that few like SSBM, Sunshine and Luigi's mansion (the trilogy rumored to be coming oddly enough.) Animal Crossing GC was also rumored by Eurogamer and I know that as a port of a N64 game that wouldn't have any such issues whatsoever. (not like the others would anyway with Switch offering GCN controller support and extra buttons)
Then again, Tom still seems confident it's happening in a changed way, so who knows. Either way, I'm beginning to doubt if it's a thing at all at this point... Or at least on the same scale of quality as the Digital Eclipse/M2 stuff coming soon.

The Gamecube adapter from Wii U works with Switch iirc. Either that or Nintendo release legacy peripherals to enable that.
ReyVGM VC (regardless of Nintendo legacy console) isnt dead. Probably takes more time to fully implement on Switch based off its modern architecture
mario kart is and always has been an (A) button racer.Considering how two of those (SMS and Luigi's Mansion) could easily be solved by mapping the full-blast commands to the triggers, it's not really a major deal. SSBM may be difficult due to the shielding but still alternative button prompts could be used. Could see it be an issue for any racing games that exist (Though Mario Kart didn't use them IIRC)

Absolutely untrue. A working NES emulator was built into the Switch day one, as the Flog tribute proved. It's not that they can't get it working, they just don't want to for whatever reason, and thus are locking it behind their online service. Whether or not it'll be done well remains to be seen.
Still, this really sucks. The Switch is the PERFECT system for VC due to the all-in-one nature and the ability to import from Japan, so having a similar release schedule to the Wii U/3DS VCs wouldn't hurt at all as you could just go to Japan's store and get what you want. I'm glad all these compilations are coming out so soon in the next few months though, since beforehand we only got a small selection of Arcade Archives titles and too many Neo Geo games to count. I just hope that Tom is correct about this in the end.
The main part isn't really Switch related (she just said that there is a Switch Virtual Console but it looks that tweet was deleted) but, she reveals some light on the Virtual Console for Wii U. In the past, she teased stuff about Nintendo Indie plans with the Switch and that it was easy to develop for.
Basically, Star Fox 2 was supposed to be on the Wii U VC but it didn't appear until SNES Classic. The reason why was that EarthBound (likely Beginnings since it lines up better timeline wise) bombed and they stopped putting effort in VC. If it was Beginnings that bombed, it lines up with the drawn-out release on StarTropics, N64 games, Mario Vs. Donkey Kong, various DS games that were already released in NA / EU and how the thing with Natsume happened where they said Nintendo wasn't accepting NES/SNES games whereas post EarthBound, Nintendo still added GBA, N64, Wii and DS and put EarthBound as one of the few New 3DS SNES games and on the SNES Classic in NA and EU. Also, why would they release EarthBound Beginnings westward if EarthBound showed no demand
Yes. I can't exactly remember what it said about Switch Virtual Console but, I don't believe it was much beyond confirming it was coming. She said she deleted the teaser tweet she made about Nintendo. Was that about Switch Virtual console?
If it's based on EarthBound Beginnings sales numbers, that makes sense since it was a big announcement yet it quickly dropped out of the eShop charts (less than 2 months there) whereas EarthBound stuck around until April 2016I really hope they aren't basing their VC decisions on Wii U sales numbers

This we know 100% this list is a month ago? Because that will give this list some credence for getting these names right. Some seems like bs though lol
More on this, compared to march 21 when this was posted and an archive capture was made, the page https://imgur.com/E8AltM9 has changed again.Says it was posted on February 4th:
But they also say "(note that this data mine updates time to time)" which makes me think imgur just lets you edit a post whenever and they've just been updating it whenever something new is announced to fit the narrative. Hard to say, though.

The part in the OP (that you of course read) about not posting new rumors/leaks in here is still in effect. Just FYI.

NERD's doing great with the mini consoles, I'm sure they'll be the ones handling Classic Games for the online service. M2's great and DE's much improved but Nintendo really doesn't need either of them.inb4 he goes and rants on his twitter again wondering why he got banned even though he blatantly was told not to post what he posted. I would say so, especially with Nintendo confirming the virtual console branding is going away. It's still possible GameCube games are being worked on, but not in the capacity that the rumor alleged. So with the Nintendo Online thing pretty much detailed now, does that mean Eurogamer's VC myth is debunked/on lower credibility? Obviously, they wouldn't delay GCN titles for this long if they were going to be a thing, unless it was for the online service/some HD remaster.
their whole messaging now is about the NES games and what they announced, we'll need E3-season interviews with Takahashi and the like to get some actual valuable info on the prospects of that stuff. what some PR spokesperson read from their sanctioned infosheet doesn't hold much value right now.So with the Nintendo Online thing pretty much detailed now, does that mean Eurogamer's VC myth is debunked/on lower credibility? Well, Tom Phillips still thinks it's coming despite all this, just not as VC... Still not really sure on that but they could be akin to Wii Retail downloads I guess.

Although I don't know the actual sales numbers, earthbound was at one point the #3 selling eshop title and earthbound beginnings was #1. These might be low numbers since Wii U had a low install base, but I bet for the effort these games made a good amount. If it really was bad and a sign of poor VC sales, then Nintendo probably wouldn't have bothered getting SNES games on new 3DS.Yes, an obscure series that only had a single release in the US was what Nintendo was basing the future of VC on. Do people honestly believe this? It doesn't even make logical sense
