Skull Kid is Hard Lock due to the chair tease
Isaac is Hard Lock due to Sakurai Twitter tease
Geno is a Hard Lock because Sakurai said he wanted him in an old Smash game and since Geno obviously won the ballot he's in
Incineroar is Hard Lock because what was it, Pokémon is Hard Lock and a leaker said it was him?
Isabelle, Dixie Kong, Ken and Shadow are all Hard Lock since they're easy echoes to make of very popular characters.

Thought we should get the discussion on track properly early for this thread. :)

Don't forget that Karate Joe is a hard lock due to the Donkey Kong pose tease.

Haven't seen Captain Toad discussed in a while. Assuming we get one new Mario rep, is he the most likely? Or does Geno really have a chance?

When Nintendo goes to Microsoft to secure Banjo-Kazooie and Steve from Minecraft for Ultimate they figured it was a good time to take Master Chief too so they don't need to return to Microsoft again for the next Smash.

The weird thing about this to me is how Geno and Isaac essentially switch places from what you see elsewhere. I wonder if Isaac fans were just not as vocal.

He's supposed to be an electric mouse. He no longer has a mouse shape, he's a rabbit. Pikachus have been inbred for seven generations to attain unhealthy beauty standards for their species.

Just throwing around that phrase willy nilly

Only hard locks are Shadow, Ken and Isabelle. And Isabelle has a very good chance of being a unique character. She's not forced to be an echo
