Oh, I know damn well I cause a shit storm in that thread every time I try to call out Fatmanonice or Sabi on their bullshit because the thread can't stand it without going into hyper phalanx defense mode. And naturally the first comment more or less in response takes issue with me pointing out Sabi's transphobic comments and saying, "I just have a difference of opinion with them and that I'm discrediting them on that" (I also listed all of the other ways that Sabi has been problematic for months, but yes, dial in on why we shouldn't criticize Sabi for transphobic comments). There's a number of Geno fans that either seem to be "enlightened centrists" or "bordering on alt-right," and that's just horribly depressing.
I'm going to be brutally honest. The more I interact with that thread, the closer I inch to just straight up not caring about Geno anymore, it's just getting that bad (or my tolerance for it has largely evaporated). I know I just need to take a break from the thread, but I just did that for a while and it honestly didn't get any better, so I don't even know anymore. If I drop Geno, I'm straight up stanning for KOS-MOS in his place (partially because I do feel really bad for being such a pessimistic ass about her chances, and also because the more I think about her, the more I really, really want her in Smash).
To be fair to him, he was saying that other people were saying that (insiders) and trying to specifically defend himself as not being that bad. Though the way he phrased his commentary does leave much to be desired and framing Tracer as anime weeb bullshit in any capacity just straight up reveals his hand.
All the more ironic given that Geno is basically anime trash in the form of the "bad-ass" archetype if those characters are so supposedly such.
I really didn't appreciate him insulting her even if he tried to do it in a less mean way. I hope she gets in just to see what he says and hell people in the newcomer thread just aren't very appreciative of any KOS-MOS discussion.
