There are a lot of character where I don't really care and you can give them whatever extra colors you want, but the important ones are:
- Mario: Bring back the Fire Flower and Wario alts; give Builder Mario and Wedding Mario an alt color each.
- Yoshi: Bring back Black Yoshi; add Orange Yoshi, Brown Yoshi and White Yoshi.
- Pikachu: Detective Pikachu hat, Pikachu Libre's alt color from Pokken (blue costume); then two more other hats.
- Luigi: Give him two Builder costumes as well, plus two alts for another alt costume of his (maybe casino dealer Luigi from SM64DS / NSMB?)
- Ness: Pajamas please.
- Jigglypuff: Bring back the Headband and Crown from Melee; then do whatever with the other two.
- Bowser: Four Dry Bowser alts. Done; easy.
- Zero Suit Samus: Just put in a Justin Bailey alt already, jeez.
- Belmonts: Both Simon and Richter get their Ayami Kojima designs for four costumes.
- Hero: Two alts for Female Erdrick, two alts for Sofia; peace is restored.
- Terry: Four Garou alts please.
- Steve: Skeleton and Piglin alts; Steve and Alex also get an extra costume each.
Now, the Japanese version of this can definitely go in the Weird Shit pile.

I feel like the alt for the Mario Maker costume could just be the Foreman Spike costume, but with an actual fitting model and not just colors with a vague reference

Oh yeah, Wario and Olimar can get some of their Brawl alts back. For Little Mac i'd imagine he would get all of his regular alts back, but only a few of the Wireframe alts. I'd prefer to just have alts for the Hoodie instead, but Sakurai disagreed in Smash 4...

Yeah, Wario had some best colors that got cut from Smash 4 and Ultimate so I would like to see it coming back. I think BGBW already made Smash 4 renders of missing Wario colors.

Haha, that's true. I just figured that Sakurai probably upgraded it into Cherry Red and Bubble Gum Pink and never look back at it again..
I still want my promoted alts for the Fire Emblem characters.

SFV Ken is actually a fine design; it's the modeling in SFV itself that kills the appeal lol.

wario not having a black and red Virtual Boy color palette is a felony
I imagine his long hair would be a clipping fest with the animations :p .. and besides the yellow gloves, he wouldn't look too different, since he already wears a full red gi in Ultimate (unlike SFV, where the Alpha costume was used as a way to bring back a more familiar look).
Mario's inverted alt has no reason to not come back. I also liked Wolf's white alt with the red trim
If there's one kind of alternate skin I'd like to see (in future entries, I guess) it's lowpoly skins for Smash 64 cast.
I'll die on the hill that this Smash isn't Ultimate until we can play on every past incarnation of Final Destination and Battlefield--retro stage skins!

So what will Smash (as a whole, not just Ultimate) get first?
- A primarily & inarguably black character
- Good rollback netcode
smash isn't ultimate until they spell the title correct i can't believe i'm the only one who has noticed that the box says "ultimete"
Speaking of alt costumes of characters that are in Smash, I'm seeing claim that Shurouga is at least named after an abandoned concept from way back at the beginning of the Super Robot Wars franchise, although I'm having trouble digging out a source from there. There are Super Robot Wars myths floating around - I recently found that Japanese Wikipedia claims that Cybuster was a last minute replacement for Dunbine when they couldn't get the rights, then soon after read that it was officially stated to be a myth while a Cybuster/Dunbine crossover was announced for the mobile game.
Anyhow, the concept feels Nintendo-like to me. First off, you have the whole reusing a concept from the eighties that you had lying around in a drawer thing. Shurouga was apparently conceived as a dimensional traveler, which fits into the Super Robot Wars Z series being all about unstable universes reconfigured and remade. Shurouga's whole story is motivated by it being immortal so that it survives the ending of universes and increasingly corrupted by the process.
The first thing I was looking at that mentioned it compared the original proposal to Rayquaza in that the Shurouga was meant to be the powerful force that ends the conflict between two opposing powerful forces - Cybuster and Granzon.

Put it in a superhero game and let people create their own supervillains, damn it!
Honest question; how would you apply that system to Smash? Drawing blanks here.
Imagine World of Light, but with Nemesis-style enemies that keep coming back, stronger and more resistant to your tactics.
imagine you're playing classic mode, but every other match, King Dedede is there to try and fuck your shit up
Smash already has adaptive ai, so they could make a mode like that work.
The only problem currently is that Nintendo wants you to pay for them, per character, through amiibo.
I think it's very impressive to make a character as boring as Troy Baker-Man was in that game tbh

(This is why I honestly say Kirby Super Star when some dope asks "what game should I play on a date". It's got a very whack-the-dumb-guy-on-the-head-with-a-giant-mallet-out-of-nowhere dynamic.)
