Capcom has other fighting games, too, but we still got Ken and Ryu.
(And, of course, we already got another SE RPG IP, in Dragon Quest.)
I know, its already annoying if they get another one in the next pass but im entertaining the notion.

Japan doesn't like Kefka. They never have.that's completely crazy yeah. I wonder if Kefka fell under the radar because he's just a clown in dissidia games and not crazy evil.
They were literally dressed like a bishop
Rule #67 of Fire Emblem games: Advanced classes aren't always canon.
I'll contend that Bylad looks ok in that thing but I'm biasedRule #67 of Fire Emblem games: Advanced classes aren't always canon.
I don't see that gaudy-ass outfit in the CG cutscenes, do you?

Everything is a rule in Smash speculation until it gets broken.Don't know if they'll ever create a second unique moveset for a guest franchise, but hey. Fan assumptions.
I know, right? Tell me about it.Y'all talk about Fire Emblem a lot. No wonder they put so many of its characters in Smash.
At the very least, we should've gotten a Barret Mii Gunner costume (alongside a Tifa Brawler and Sephiroth Swordfighter) back in Smash 4.Don't know if they'll ever create a second unique moveset for a guest franchise, but hey. Fan assumptions.
Barret for Smash
Crimson Flower player detected. No outfit is too gaudy for the one who
ends a centuries-long cycle of inequality borne out of an ancient dragon's delusional attempts to ressurect her dead mother
Eight player smashYo. Remember when Terry came with 50 songs?
How I wish his stage wasn't so bland to look at. Kinda boring
Cloud sounds pretty good. Put that voice in smash. The VA he had before I felt was always pretty bad.
Joker wasn't based on how the Persona characters work in Persona Arena though, and Megaman in spite of taking one attack is very different from his MvC self.Dissidia only had her use the sword for like one move and her moveset there would almost certainly be used for inspiration.
Cloud is voiced by Takahiro Sakurai so that's probably not gonna happen :PWas at a friends house and got to play the FFVII demo.
I'm so disappointed by the combat. It's just not for me and the music is a letdown so far expect for the title screen prologue. Bummer.

Huh, Sakurai posted a second part to his Pic of the Day... hours later for some reason.

Wtf how did I never notice thisI always loved how Samus's ship can be seen falling in the background after Ridley's final smash.

Just like everything else produced for Kingdom Hearts, the music falls back to Disney rights-wise. The official soundtracks are all under their record label. Most of Kingdom Hearts' music is composed by Yoko Shimomura, right? How are those music rights handled? Since Yoko is already on the long list of Smash composers (and has composed many Nintendo soundtracks before), wouldn't we get a reasonable selection of music if she has control over it?

Enjoy.
But that's the thing, Disney has control over the music, not Yoko. Most of Kingdom Hearts' music is composed by Yoko Shimomura, right? How are those music rights handled? If Sakurai had requested 100 tracks, I bet SNK would also have said "OK!".Hot take:
I hope Square doesn't get any more characters. With how stingy they are with everything for both Dragon Quest and especially Final Fantasy, any additional character from either of these 2 franchises or a new franchise would end up with like 4 songs.
Which is even more incredulous after SNK's "Which of these songs can we use? - Yes." situation.
There's also a few songs from SMRPG that are remixes of Mario music and they could just remix the remixes and attribute it to Mario RPG. Like Mario's house theme (which has been remixed and appears in future Mario games not tied to Square)The one factor that makes Geno preferable to other SE suggestions - his music would be tied to Mario so his stage would automatically have a decent selection. That and if SE doesn't play ball they could just use him as an excuse for Mario + Luigi & Paper Mario arrangements since they're all technically the same series.
I'd love to have him;.. but after having all the major Ubisoft franchises in form of Spirits and Mii Costumes, I'm not confident they'll have anything more in Smash, sadlyI'm pretty sure Rayman will be added. Fits like a glove IMO. Big franchise with a lot of potential.

I still choose to believe Rayman isn't in Ultimate entirely because he'd be almost impossible to turn into an amiibo that doesn't look terrible
It's sad because his victory theme would be the best in the entire game
I think it's something they would've announced during the Byleth reveal, if they don't announce it during the next direct it's safe to say it's not happening. Maybe the sales weren't as good as expected or they had problems with the licenses for 1 character so they decided to not do any. What a complete fucking gyp that would be
Why would they not do new amiibos for the DLC crew when they've been doing it for all the new base game characters and also did amiibo for the DLC characters last game?
