Made an actual proper puzzle level now. Purpose of this is to have something to showcase to people who hate hard stuff. Put actual effort into making it an enjoyable experience. So for this one I'd actually appreciate feedback! Making stuff accessible is a lot harder than making stuff hard.

Sorry , dumb question but I'm losing my mind over this. How the hell do I make key doors ,? I see an option for keys and warp doors but no way to have locked them.

Do comments not screenshot where the comment was taken from anymore? I never see screens when reading comment sections. That was a really useful feature in the first game.

When I found out we were getting multiplayer vs, I immediately had the idea that I wanted to try making something reminiscent of the Mario vs Luigi battle mode from the original NSMB. I haven't had a chance to test this in a multiplayer environment yet(can you even choose levels when doing 'Nearby play'?), but if anyone wants to give it a shot, check it out:

GRY-RFP-HGG

The rules are simple: collect 4 keys and get to the finish line. There are 8 keys total, one of which is in the form of 4 pink coins.

The battlefield is a vertical stage, you start and exit in the center. Some keys are a little trickier to get. There are various power ups scattered around, and a couple of hidden stars. You can steal someone's keys by jumping on their head, hitting them with a shell, or eating them with Yoshi.

I'd love any feedback or to hear about any similar levels. Hoping to give this a go with friends sooner or later, once I get people with multiple Switches in the same room.

Someone beat my level! I was worried I made it too hard, so it feels good that some took the time to beat it, since I tried to focus on making it really tough but also fair. Clear rate 0.23% now.

I'm starting to realize most "multiplayer vs" tagged levels are actually terrible for multiplayer vs.

Submission for ResetEra's Official Level Competition

Bullet Bill Bounce!

2R8-KNC-5RG

Was an absolute nightmare to make as the timing had to be perfect but difficulty wise it should be far easier than the last one, and its short!

7zcN1Ar.png

I'd like to have submitted my first level, but given the difficulty it'd probably be unwise given I expect most won't past the first jump. Anyone looking to play that level still can find it here /sweat

I did it!! Tough but fair, only part that gave me trouble was the music note blocks.

I think the new courses section is bugged? It only shows levels that were uploaded three days ago at the time you check it.

I also tried the reddit exchange thread as an experiment and it somewhat works but even there you will get buried and many don't return the favor, they don't think of it as an exchange like the name of the thread suggests, as in I'm doing you a favor and I expect something in return, but more like "hey glad you liked my level! kthxbye!"

This isn't just about getting likes per se, but to get the much needed feedback.

Try playing endless mode but in the easiest setting, and you'll find those random nonsense and incomplete levels put together in 5 minutes by kids. Some of those levels had a surprising amount of likes too, like 20 and stuff. It's just so weird. I think the main issue is that there are just too many levels being uploaded. Everyone is making these days!

In this thread (and reddit) I try to either play levels with no likes or the levels of people who are active. If you wanna dump your level and conttibute nothing else that's cool, no rule against it, but I'm not typing these bullshit codes in over and over if someone only wants plays but wont contribute them. (I know many play the levels but dont post feedback which again is cool, not talking about you).

If the game launched with the bookmark feature I would play almost all the levels in this thread since I could cue em up at work and knock em down when I get home.

Hey Era buddies.

Finally made my first 3d World themed level.

It's called,

"my pipe has sand in it"

Yes I'm terrible at naming things.

It doesn't have a specific theme or anything besides maybe "pipe maze", and it's certainly not flash compared to the amazing stuff in here, but I just wanted to create a pretty straight forward, enjoyable, classic platforming adventure! And I'll greatly appreciate anyone who plays it.

I set up a wee obstacle course for Cat Mario with a coin criteria that should help keep people on the right track.
Buuuut, what I want to know is how clear is it? are the coins too much? is it too easy? maybe it's actually too hard!
I'm trying to gauge levels of chellenge here, the unwritten rule is that it's always harder than you think it is.

As an aside, this requires you know that Cat Mario can climb fences, dive in the air and of course clamber walls...and one long jump near the start that isn't necessary but you want those coins!

The addition of windows to SMB3's castle actually takes away from my ability to do some designs. I had a volcano level in SMM1 that I cant bring over because the windows would just look dumb. Wish we got alternate backgrounds per stage.

The second level that I took down and re-uploaded because it got no plays. Seems like there's something going on with new levels. Or maybe its just me.

If anyone would like to try out my new level. Any feedback would be great. Some parts might be a bit dicey, but its hard to tell only testing yourself.

Most Mario Maker levels I play are frankly too hard for me. They're too out there, too convoluted or just simply too difficult. So, I tried to create a level that's an easy play: a level that doesn't ask you to die a million deaths and to spend hours learning its in an outs while hopefully also not being too boring. I think there are just too many levels on Mario Maker to bother with levels that simply ask too much off you and I hope I succeeded with my goal of creating a stage that's simple yet fun. I would love some feedback to improve my design! It's always easy to lose perspective on how difficult your level actually is...

I finally finished a second level. It's about climbing a tower, rescuing a captive Yoshi, and making a grand escape together. Please give it a try. :)
So I named it:

My third course! I've tried to learn from my low clear rates and have a decent amount of rescue platforms etc. although platforming skill is still required. The secret area shouldn't be too hard to find but can be skipped if players just want to go through quickly. As always, feedback is welcome :)

I edited my pretty epic, vaguely Maze of Galious-esque/Metroidvania-style castle: FT4-D8X-CXF

Please check it out! It's fun to sequence-break and find alternate routes to speed run it too. A time of under 3.5 minutes seems impossible, but is very possible!

This is like a NSMB tower stage if they actually required wall jumps, neat! and I was oddly pleased at the restraint of having one dry bones on the middle platform of those three moving ones at one point, I feel like some would just go "no it needs one on EVERY platform".
Thanks for the feedback! and yes I try to show restraint on enemy placement. I know all too well the frustration of having enemies crowd courses too often and try to avoid it when I can.

Ok, here's the first in what I'm hoping will become a series of literary themed levels. This one's an ode to Upton Sinclair. Mario visits Bowser's Meat packing plant and learns of the horrors contained within. Been working on this one for awhile and it'll probably end up being my contest submission unless y'all hate it.

Posting for a new page because I'd love some more plays on the level. Spent far too long on this one and now I've already got all these ideas brewing for the next.

Gave you another clear. Very fun! The last part felt kind of blind tho, I kind of tried to count to different numbers and then blind jump. Worked out in the end though. Got a lot better at hitting bombs on rails haha.

The second bit for me is really frustrating, I feel like it's way too punishing if you fall. I cleared it in the end and I did enjoy the first bit as it felt just the right difficulty, but it scares me to play the other levels here more often if you think they're hard. I thought your second bit was hard T_T

I guess I'm just terrible at Mario.

I had a small parachute thwomp section at the end of my first course. Pretty neat. Even surprise thwomps from off screen that come down on you all of sudden aren't shit! Thinking of making a full course based around them.

Is it intended to just damage boost through the first bullet bill section? Seemed way harder than the rest of the level unless I made the decision to just take the hit.

I'd bet it'd be fun to have a suprise thwamp look certain to kill you before it deploys the chute giving you the time to escape. Like, make it the only thwamp in a thwamp heavy level with that parachute.

Clever concept. I liked it a good deal. I liked how the On switch not only "turned on" the lift, but it also destroyed the Bob-Ombs and bllcks so the player couldn't advance without hitting the switch. The ending slopes were fun, and I died the first two times without realizing I should just remain holding down to get the most height and distance. Good work!

Thanks for the feedback and glad you enjoyed it. Despite your trouble at the end, still the only one to clear it. In my head it's super easy (without the red coins) but I guess not? Anyway, I've dropped you a follow and look forward to having a go. Cheers

New quick and easy level. Kill the 15 Goombrats and get to the finish. It's all just precision jumping, but I think precision jumping is fun!

The first part climbing the vine? No, I thought the hard part was hitting the brick to get the vine.

Oh, unless you didn't realize the vine was there?

Cool. I thought it was going to be impossible until I realised you could kill the spike tops with the on/off switch. Liked and commented.

thabeast, Mario Maker 2 streamer, got my level in super expert on day 1. Today he uploaded it to YouTube! He enjoys it a lot too which inspired me to do as many levels as I've done now.

Starts at the 4 minute mark.

He calls it a kaizo level tho which feels a bit much but sure! Not easy at all.

I like easy stages for relaxing play so will check these out. I can't believe you actually put Generic in the title of that first one 😂

There's too many people creating too challenging stages now, and there are few people making easy to normal stages that are fun and rewarding.

Generic Bell Field is my first SMM2 stage. Played the first one so I have the experience.

Had to delete and reupload one of my levels after my brother found an exploit and beat it way too fast. I felt bad for anyone else trying to get the high score so I fixed it, even though my brother wasn't happy. If you played it before try and give it another shot because now you have a chance of getting the best time. If you havent played it, please try it and let me know what you think.

Alright, Y'all. Completed my first stage.

It's a traditional-style Super Mario World. I wanted it to come out feeling like something you'd find in the real game, with a difficulty around what you might expect near the end of the first world. So, pretty easy.

Mario descends down and through a perilous mountain.
