So, baylan really is trying to become a mortis god & that is what he was training shin to be. Guess my question is how does he know that is a possibility? I highly doubt he found out about ahsoka, so I'm guessing someone else pulled an anakin and he heard and that is why he is on this quest. Interesting... I fully bet he's gonna find out that not only is ahsoka the daughter, anakin was the father, but the son is also spoken for and he's gonna plan on murdering whoever has it.

kinda disappointed we didn't get the slightest clue of what's going on with Ray's character, cus I have no idea how they'll handle his future at all now.

And I wouldn't be surprised if Ezra straight up led Thrawn to Hera and the fleet on accident, like there's no way Thrawn wouldn't know right

The Mortis gods is the hint, though it does still boil down to "serious Force shit on this planet"

Love all of it, this is my Star Wars feels zone.
When the force theme hit I marked out and it was so good.
Love also that they let it marinate and did not rush and just let it ride.
Did I have gripes? Sure. The 3 fighting the troopers looked like fan film tier rubbish. But come on zombie troopers how can anyone hate that.
Just so much good vibes. I can't wait to marathon all through again.
That being said, Filoni needs to tweet that Season 2 is greenlit soon to get in front of the inevitable shit storm from the dark side of the fandom.

Fucking loved it. Filoni can do all the "bad writing" he wants if he's gonna keep doing cool Star Wars shit like this.

I don't think he's trying to become a god, I think he just wants to use whatever powerful Force shenanigans are in the planet to change the course of things. My guess is that he wants to kill the Force since that would stop the cycle he was talking about

I fucking called it that Morgan would be the one to die btw.

The statues. Two of them are recognizable, the one Baylan is standing on is the Father, who represents balance. The bald male next to him is The Son, who represents the dark. The Daughter represented the light. However, in legends, there was one more, the Mother.

Actually looking into it AND FILONIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

If this is where he's going with this new galaxy and Mortis payoff I am SO in.

Introducing, the scariest thing in Star Wars.

Sorry but please keep Abeloth out of this. She was one of those awful Legends ideas I hope never comes back.

Show was fine. THANK GOD those Aboloth or whatever rumors were completely unfounded.
Perhaps you blinked and missed the implication of the Baylan scene.
.......................Oh my god. What if the broken statue isn't actually the daughter. 👀
I'm sure it's the daughter. The father pointing at a mysterious Mount Doom looking ass thing in the distance that is presumably the force mystery that Baylan is pursuing? Definitely not Abeloth sealed away on a dead planet in a galaxy far far away that even the witches want to GTFO. Baylan is definitely not opening Pandora's (deffo not Abeloth's) box.

Sorry but please keep Abeloth out of this. She was one of those awful Legends ideas I hope never comes back.
Yeah, it's definitely not like Feloni to try to rescue bad ideas.

And in the Abeloth's story, it definitely was not Ahsoka and Anakin's little adventure on Mortis that lead to the death of the Ones that allowed her to eventually escape. Oh and how altering the flow of the force and time causes her to reawaken? Ezra saving Ahsoka via the WBW definitely wouldn't qualify, would it? That doesn't seem like a story that would be relevant to Ahsoka and now Anakin to deal with as if it were their responsibility.

Never seen rebels or clone wars. What did that scene mean?
Those beings were the embodiment of the lightside(Daughter) and darkside(Son) of the Force and the old bearded one is the father that kept them in balance.

I did not care for the zombies... or hardly any of the action scenes in this episode.. the fight between Ahsoka and Morgan at the end was badass, though. All the Night Troopers stood by and watched the battle for a bit, it was gorgeous

Ahsoka v Morgan was incredible. Hope shes reanimated, it would suck for her to get an OP sword and powers only to die 5 minutes later. Her fighting style is great

Yeah, this is my new favorite live action Star Wars show. I wished the finale were longer, but I liked what we got. Morgan vs Ahsoka was good. A shame we didn't get more than one scene of Ray Stevenson's last appearance.

I have to say, the addition of Sabine being Ahsoka's apprentice was easily the weakest aspect of the show. Even with it being a surprise to even Rebels fans, there was so much potential there in terms of character work and drama, yet they barely did anything with it and were frustratingly vague until almost the very end. On a superficial level, at least Sabine got powers out of it? But at no point did I really buy into their relationship, and that's a shame. Hopefully S2 can improve upon that... at least the best it can.

I'll tell you what else was weird in this episode, the dialogue between Sabine and Ahsoka felt like they were first meeting after a long time away. Ahsoka is like, "have you been keeping up with your training?"

HUH? WHAT?! We were just training together a couple days ago, you know I haven't. And I've been a bit busy the past three days or so. What kind of question is that? And then Ahsoka is like, "you did good." NO SHE DIDN'T. She sacrificed the peace and future of the entire New Republic to selfishly save Ezra, a guy that willingly sacrificed himself to save the Galaxy. And you provided the enemy with the sole means of ensuring his victory meant nothing. She did the opposite of good.

And I hate to nitpick, because honestly the show doesn't have a single brain cell so why even bother, but the episode starting with them lazily escorting the turtle shell people had me reeling. Um, guys, aren't you supposed to be stopping Thrawn? Isn't that a bit more pressing. You realize that by staying near the turtles you are actually placing them at risk? They wouldn't be targets if you just left them. Why aren't you immediately blasting off to go after Thrawn? JFC.

Only thing I legit hated about the episode is 4 lightsabers against the Night Troopers and we literally only see 2 dismemberments much later on.
For 1 they are zombies thats fine, 2 they keep reviving so cut them the hell up already.

I'm still gushing, though. The story, the music, the casting, the costumes, the makeup, the ships, the creatures, the settings.

This is some top tier Star Wars.

I have a strong desire for Sabine to one day become Grogu's master. She's walks both worlds the same as him, it would make the most sense!

How they handled Ezra's lightsaber in general was kinda lame IMO. The nod to Kanan was nice, but hastily putting it together (and getting a kyber crystal out of nowhere) kinda undermined his hesitancy to use a lightsaber last episode.

He undermined himself with his weak ass force pushes and almost immediately grabbing a blaster, he should stick to lightsabers lol

So the girls have to go over Baylan to WBW their way home for a Season 2.

Meanwhile Ezra and Luke are the only active Jedi against Thrawn's attack on the NR

Gonna need Ahsoka communicating with Anakin a touch more in season 2, please. It's still so open ended on the WBW scenes and the Force Ghost....

I'll just say that this was dissapointing and that I'll try to refrain from posting in any star wars threads from now on. I'd just be a bummer and ruin people's fun.

Yea I was watching it with my friend, that line struck us both as odd given obviously she wouldn't have time to train. The most generous read I could give it is that she was awkwardly trying to break the ice?

As for Sabine, well... where's the lie. We (well those that watched Rebels anyways) all wanted Ezra back, but it's always going to be awkward knowing that there'll be a lot of shit people will have to suffer through before they can fix her mistake and defeat Thrawn again. Now that I think about it, she really got away with never having to explain herself to Ezra, just left him to put 2 and 2 together lol

They really did Thrawn justice in this.
He did what he needed to do to win. Nothing more, nothing less.

Eh, he made it a lot harder on himself lol

So I wonder then if they're going to recast Baylan. As wonderful a performance it is, I would definitely prefer going that route because I just really dig the character.

They pretty much have to

Baylan wasn't defeated/killed, Ashoka, Sabine, and Shin are all stranded with him, you can't just not address his character IMO

Casual reminder that Ahsoka had several lightsabers on her ship.
A being like the ones only incredibly corrupted.

They were created for Clone Wars. Abeloth was tacked on by shitty writers.
Ah you're right, the Fate of the Jedi novel featuring the Ones appeared a year after Clone Wars. Still, Filoni could absolutely make that work. He's done more with less. Hell let's not forget that Thrawn, for all the hype about the pre-canon novels , had the bit involving the creation of Luuke Skywalker. Just like usual he jjust has to heavily change the details. And keep it original. Like this lowkey Heir to the Empire adaptation having Thrawn ally with the nightisters to create an undead army.

Huyang has a bunch of spare parts left over from over 25,000 years of existence. This is hardly out of no where. We also saw complete lightsabers on the ships wall.

Ezra refused the lightsaber, because it wasn't his. Sabine made it hers.

Show was fine overall but I'm left wanting now that it is over. Feels like it was mostly just about moving some pieces around to get them in place for the next show/movie rather than telling a compelling enough story on its own. I'm interested (I think, don't want to jinx it!) in what's next for Baylan, assuming they're okay with recasting him - I assume they are, though.

I do commend the show on finding a way to make stormtroopers even less threatening than they already were though.

How can Baylan, ahsoka and new people become the father, daughter and son if they already exist? Or are the original family no longer mortis gods?
