I do not think it is a performance issue on my end; I have a 6700k, titan x pascal, and 32 gigs of ram on a SSD. Also do not think its a graphics card issue either, never had anything like that happen before.
The most I can get is 20 frames per second on a build thats a few years old, if the servers are good, I'll get a good frametime and I can play the game. There are fundamental issues wrong with performance and anyone saying; "well I have good FPS so it must be you." is handwaving legitimate criticism that even Chris Roberts himself felt he needed to acknowledge and promise would be fixed as soon as possible and would be the focus.
Today's games I got 25fps avg but celin's textures didn't load it was just a giant pixelated moon then at the surface it was a grey mess and once at grim everything was so blurry so I had to stop.
Also the mobi glass is so hard to look at and so is the radar on the ship. I turned off the engines like 3 times trying to qt. And last can I qt to mission locations?
Textures sometimes mess up with streaming, bugs. It's better to just use the mobiglass starmap than the ship radars since the ship radar is even worse in terms of contrast. You can't QT to mission locations, you can only QT to planets/asteroids/stations and orbital markers, and then fly to a mission area normally.
Where do you find the mission givers?
Apparently you need to do the generic missions to gain reputation, and only when you have the right reputation will you get to interact with the mission givers.
Played the 3.0 for the first time yesterday. It runs ok on my computer (i5, 16Go RAM, RX480 8Go), I got something like 20 - 30fps with some dips lower.
It was already way more stable than the last time I played 2.6. No crash, no long freeze and more importantly no clipping thru my ship :p
I really like the new Cutlass, this ship just seems right, I'm glad I upgraded from the avenger to this one. I just have a little bug with it: I can't open or close the rear and the side doors. So I just fly with the rear door open constantly.
I tried arena commander and the framerate is great there ! (which is not really a surprise I guess)
Overall I'm really confident in the direction it's taking. At the moment my biggest grips are the online framerate and the UI.
Framerate, UI, stability, and just lack of things to do and functionality are the things that are really annoying me.
What is the install size for the game now?
Also how do you tell what you can do? As in these "packages"?

I have:
ACKAGE - STAR CITIZEN STARTER

What can I not do/can do?
By the name of your package, it looks like you have everything you need to play Star Citizen.
I got to play for about 30 minutes today. The frame rate was surprisingly good. I got between 25-30 fps even in busy areas.
I'm still trying to wrap my head around the controls.
My starmap glitched when I was flying in my avenger. I also couldn't figure out how to find the derelict ship on the starmap, so I couldn't quantum travel to it. I did get to check it daymar for a bit though!
You can't QT to mission locations, you can only QT to planets/asteroids/stations and orbital markers, and then fly to a mission area normally. Sadly, the only way to realize if your mission is on the other side of the moon is by using the orbital markers around the moon and look to see which one is closet and then fly down too it. Mission locations are shown on the HUD, if you don't see a marker then the quest is bugged and you should abandon it. Controls are hard to get used too, I've made a bunch of my own keybindings at this point.
