What is the strategy?
Getting people to watch the show lol.
FF IV the complete collection style >>>>>> DS 3D remake style all day but just my opinion.
Wonder if they'll go fancy with the collection's name. Like including the word "crystal" or something in there.
The full title will be "Final Fantasy: Chronicles of the Crystals (But Not Crystal Chronicles)". Rolls right off the tongue. They'll go with something not at all confusing, like "Chronicle of the the Crystals"

It would make sense for Square to announce FF Origin in a Sony event, i dont think they would show two Final Fantasy games in the same Sony event tho
So who knows
Ffwiw they announced world of final fantasy at the same event as ff7r, there's definitely precedent for it
doesn't mean it's going to happen (my guess is origin is today and we see an updated 16 trailer/more info at whenever the sony presentation is), but it's certainly not something that they wouldn't do
no
It's supposedly coming to PC, too...albeit later, like with the Nioh games.
secret of mana 3 got the collection and remake. That means we will never get ff6 in HD2D, they not going to release 2 different versions
maybe 4-6 are HD2D and 1-3 are just cleaned up
I'm 80% leaning towards "no XVI" and the reason behind the "mystery" being that they know many fans will tune in on account of it maybe showing up.
That's good point they were announced at same time too
Yeah, I don't see why we'd get Origin here if it's exclusive. Kind of already pre-empting the concern trolling when that and XVI are no-shows. Something something, FKN NOMURA, IT'S YOUR FAULT.
HD2D games take years to make. How the hell are they supposed to pull 3 out of nowhere? That means we will never get ff6 in HD2D, they not going to release 2 different versions

Yeah, I was wondering about that. Maybe at a SE presentation or a direct later in the year?Do you think they'll finally announce the Live a Live remaster?
I don't expect to see XVI, and I used to think XVI was a late 2021 / early 2022 release, but I don't see that happening with Endwalker in November.

I'd go with "Final Fantasy Dawn"They'll go with something not at all confusing, like "Chronicle of the the Crystals"
I'd love a Drakengard 4Imran tweeting about Drakengard today of all days?...
If the trailer really wasn't a vertical slice but in development footage, they're going along pretty smoothly, and they seemed to have time to iterate and prototype it since...post-Heavensward, so 2016 I think. There is a chance they have a lot of things under control and that they're trying another marketing strategy considering fan feedback.XVI was probably never going to launch in '21, but don't let that fool you into believing it's progressing poorly. (Not saying you are or anything; more of a reflexive preemptive strike against anybody who says "no way that game is out before 2025 roflmao.")
Still think Babylon's Fall is a taro game.Imran tweeting about Drakengard today of all days?...
That's the thing though, that FF XVI is probably not there and will instead be at Sony's after whatever agreement between the two. If they said "no FF XVI just yet, wait a little longer" I know I probably wouldn't be watching this live (I don't think I will today, actually, depends on when I get home).I don't get this mentality. Surely you'd get more people to watch your show if you went "Hey this thing you're excited for will be in this show!'" instead of "Hey this thing you're excited for might be at this so tune in for the entire thing in case it maybe shows up!" More people would watch this show if they knew XVI was going to be there.
Ohhh...good call.

I dunno. I've only played Drakengard 3, and I'm not sure Square has enough balls these days to release a game featuring a whore, a psycho, a masochist, a pervert and a dumb dragon. Especially the dumb dragon.
Ah, sorry, I see what you mean.Oh yeah I know it means it won't be there and that they won't say it's not there, but it just goes into what I was saying earlier in the thread about how SE would say XVI would be there if it was actually there. I don't get why you'd think they wouldn't mention if it was there.

Ah, sorry, I see what you mean.
Yeah. And especially with even unannounced games like GotG ring explicitly mentioned as being there.
Oh... this makes me even more interested in the possibility of Babylon's Fall being involved with Nier/Yoko Taro. Could be nothing though.Imran tweeting about Drakengard today of all days?...
To be fair, Square are apparently working on a Yoko Taro game that they are incredibly reluctant about him making lol, so very well could be a new Drakengard game.I dunno.
