No offense, but you are being incredibly immature in this discussion and are almost whining your opinion now. Your whole angle here is ¨You just dont want Chloe to be the star!!!!¨, when that couldn´t be farther than the truth. I have given many sensible reasons why she doesn´t fit the bill to continue the series and why the new team shouldn´t have to be confined to the scraps of the Uncharted series now that Drake and Elena have had their story closed off and finished.
And I´m sorry but NO ONE ever considered Chloe a ¨brown¨ woman (as you so eloquently put it). Have you ever heard of white people who have a medium skin tone or just have a tan? They exist and many believed that to be the case for her. Considering British/Australian accents are both of areas that speak primarily English and which millions of white women have, the difference is subtle and not something like an accent that would tip-off the character being of a distinct ethnicity. You act as if she has always had an Indian accent, which would clearly say she was born in India and would be identified primarily by that but that was never the case.
Hell, actress Naomi Scott is part Indian as well and people accused Disney of white washing the role of Princess Jasmine in the new Aladdin film. She also has a medium skin tone yet people saw her as a white woman getting the role despite knowing she is part Indian. I mean there was never anything to indicate that Chloe was not just another white character until The Lost Legacy, unless you actually believe you can´t be considered white if your skin tone isn´t extremely light or you have a tan lol.
I mean really, you are trying to make it seem like the Chloe and Lara comparisons, the noting of their similarities and the clear as day Lara vibes Chloe has always given are just in my head. Use Google and you can see that they have been pointed out and discussed by the gaming community since 2009. when she first debuted.
And now you are twisting what I said about a new main cast into me saying that they should scrubbing the series clean of all traces of previous characters. Are you this paranoid about Chloe? I said in every post that she and other characters should be interacted with in the new series, just not get the main focus. So how would that be alienating fans? New characters allow tons of possibilities and since it is a new team they should be allowed to create a new cast of characters that can be built upon for the long haul.
Chloe already had her most meaningful adventure in The Lost Legacy being that it was directly tied to her father. It gave the impression that Chloe was thoroughly explored as a main character, not that she would be carrying the torch for Nathan.
SMH you're still running with this? I thought you'd finally given up and we could move on.
You don't get to insult me and make it okay because "no offence". Nah, dude. Offence taken. My angle has never been "You just dont want Chloe to be the star!!!!" (and I'm immature?), so fuck off with that straw man. I literally said in my last post that if you don't want her to be the protagonist because you want a fresh start or whatever, that's fine and I'm open to whatever they do (just leave Cassie alone), my issue is with the nonsense reasoning you've come up with.
I never once acted like she had an Indian accent, so you're just making that shit up. I said she has an Australian accent because she does (and Claudia Black is Australian so it isn't even a fake Australian accent). Americans speak English too, they still sound completely different from British accents so I have no idea why you think all English accents sound the same. Hell, even within Britain, Scottish accents sound completely different from Londoner accents. The difference isn't subtle at all, no matter how much you want to believe it, so just stop, you have no idea what you're talking about.
lol at you trying to focus on me saying she's brown as if that's an issue, while claiming she was tanned. Here's Uncharted 2 concept art:
And here's an excerpt from the Uncharted 2 art book:
She was never white, tanned or otherwise. I won't claim I knew she was Indian but it's always been obvious to me she wasn't white.
And as for googling comparisons between the two, if that's what you've got to fall back on then I don't know why you're even bothering. For one, if you're going to go back to 2009 then you have to compare Chloe with pre-reboot Lara who was still running around in short shorts with anime eyes and two pistols. Secondly, how many Nathan Drake and Indiana Jones comparisons do you think I'd get from a google search? It really doesn't mean anything and doesn't back up your argument that it'd hurt Uncharted at all.
I didn't twist anything, if you say it needs a new main cast then that sounds like you're saying they need a new cast. Paranoid? Fuck off. Stop trying to paint me as some kind of Chloe fanboy straw man, it's stupid. I've already made it clear that while she's my preferred protagonist, I'm open to a lot of possibilities (except Cassie).
Chloe had a meaningful adventure in TLL and she can have more if a good writer comes up with them. Stop acting like they wrapped up her story the same way they wrapped up Drake's story in UC4, there's more than enough room to keep going with her if they want to.
Just stop.
wow at people thinking chloe was white. jesus
For real. I guess it's the same kinda thinking that leads people to think anime characters are white.
I guess PS Plus skewed stats.
For example, only 37% of people finished Deus Ex first mission. And that was basically tutorial :)
Yeah, PS+ definitely dropped it a bit (google tells me Gascoigne used to be ~60%) but a shocking number of people seem to give up on games really quickly. 43% beating the first non-optional boss is actually pretty fantastic for a game like Bloodborne.
Isn't the PSP one meant to be the secret best? Or was that Killzone?
1 will win, no one bought 3, not even here.
Yeah, Resistance Retribution from Sony Bend. It's great.
I'd say both Killzone and Resistance were best done on handhelds but Resistance Burning Skies was awful. Otherwise, Resistance Retribution, Killzone Liberation and Killzone Mercenary were some of the best games in those series.
