Kinda wonder why New Groove flopped so hard considering it's so universally beloved these days. It even got positive reviews at the time. I know about its extremely troubled production history as Kingdom of the Sun, but that shouldn't have affected how it did in the box office.
Me too, It's the 'golden age' of their shows to me. They were the old classics when I was growing up, and the hand animation is pretty amazing and full of character.
No idea. Maybe people just didn't get or know they wanted a pure comedy Disney animated movie?Kinda wonder why New Groove flopped so hard considering it's so universally beloved these days. Finally, an enlightened soul. It is too beautiful for words.
I'd like to be your friend because this is the answer.
The live version is better than the animated one. Fight me about it. Aladdin and Jasmine are both terrible characters in the animated one. Genie and Jafar save that movie.
Evind Earle's backgrounds in this movie are out of this fuycking world. Finally, an enlightened soul. It is too beautiful for words.
And it has Merryweather, the biggest badass to ever grace a Disney film.

Good taste. These classics deserve to be re-watched by more people. Too many dismiss them out of hand for some reason (bc theyre 'old').I prefer Disney's stuff from the late 40s/50s to be honest. Sleeping Beauty, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan (minus the depiction of natives).
